Reopen Update Request
A key could be added, available for a certain period of time from the closing of the UR (e.g. 1d, 6h, 30min), to be able to reopen it and change its status, it is useful when a UR is closed by mistake (if the key is displayed for a few minutes after closing) or if the user replies or adds details after closing (if viewed for a few hours after closing)
The button could only be made visible to those who commented on that issue first or otherwise participated in the conversation.

More than once I've accidentally closed out a UR, either thinking I was working a different one or just by mistake clicking the wrong button. Sometimes I'm able to communicate using email, but by doing that, the thread in the UR is lost after the closure.

Just today I closed one and realized a minute later I shouldn't have. Too late.. nothing I can do about it with the current config.

I really like pasciakd's thoughts on this. Even though I don't work a lot of UR's, I have accidentally closed them prematurely.
And sometimes I've had UR's that needed to stay open for an extended period of time, but they don't necessarily need to keep showing up on UR reports.
It would be helpful if UR's that need to remain open for whatever reason (further troubleshooting, BUG reports, etc.), could be flagged some way (maybe a color change to blue or purple, or some other kind of marker) to alert other editors that it needs to remain open.
The flag could also serve as a marker to keep it off the list of UR's that need attention, keeping the numbers down on "normal" UR reports -- and allowing a separate report for extended UR's.

It would be nice to continue conversations for actual map problems rather than have the report disappear and a driver having to make a new one.1- URs can be accidentally closed (shutting off a conversation in the future or removing important info for BUG tracking)
2- A driver may reply to you after you close it (where you end up fighting against the clock to fix their issue before it disappears)
