Different regions of the world use different date/time formats, and even within some regions individuals may have their own preference for a date format that's most comfortable for them. Rather than have WME use one format for entering and displaying dates, allow the user to configure their preferred format on the WME Settings page, the same as configuring Imperial vs. Metric units. WME should then honor that date format on all date entry and display fields.

Sample date formats to offer could include "dd-mm-yyyy", "mm/dd/yyyy", or my preference for a default the ISO 8601 "yyyy-mm-dd" international standard format. I suggest only numeric date options, not "mmm" for month, to avoid having to accommodate month names and abbreviations in multiple languages. Time format options could be 24-hr or 12-hr AM/PM.
