Smoke on Road
Users should have the possibility to report a common danger in the road: Smoke. It can be from wildfires as described in another suggestion, however roads are not necessarily closed.
We have dangers like "ice on road" or "snow", however those are never used in countries where winter never gets below 0°C (or is highly unlikely). On the contrary, every year there are fires causing road hazards with visibility dropping considerably.

Being able to add construction just like road closures
When you make a closure through the app or through WME , you are able to select one whole segment / multiple segments to apply the road closure on.
My Idea is that reporting construction would work just like reporting/making a closure, or probably giving the user the option to just place a warning or to select a whole road segment to add the construction to
And like european maps (from germany and nearby) , the whole segment should be covered in orange and white strips... Just like road closures but orange instead of red!

Tell the editor why they can't edit Far Lanes
If you're below the required editor level to edit Far Lanes, then the Far Lanes interface is visible to you when editing Lane Guidance, but it's dimmed out - and there's no explanation why. For example, in Australia, Far Lanes requires Level 4 or higher - but nowhere in the Waze Map Editor does it mention this. For the user editing, the Far Lanes interface just appears greyed out for them for no apparent reason.
All that needs to be added is some kind of message that says "You need to be a higher level to edit Far Lanes" whenever…

Detour routes
We need the ability to add detour routes (paths) that can be added and removed in real time and/or scheduled to use in conjunction with closures. Often when local authorities announce closures, the also specify preferred detour routes.

Combined Red Light & Speed Cameras
The UK now has a growing number of red light cameras that also double-up as speed cameras. These should be able to be captured and displayed/warned as having both functions to drivers.

WME - Dynamic Speed Camera (Icon).
Hi.
It would be a nice touch to add a - Dynamic Speed Camera (Icon), so whatever the user inputs in the Speed Value Box, it will reflect the same on the Icon. I feel this would help new users who think every Speed Camera is (30) but in reality it can be something else.
Thanks!

"Check and try again"
Save error suggestions should provide useful, actionable info to the editor to help them know what to do to solve the problem.
"Check and try again" isn't helpful. Check what?

New road type needed between ST to OR
Passive road type
Passive mean the penalties attribute doesn't need to use unpaved option.
And MAY use penalties state similar to PLRMost of the road actually vehicles worthy but not qualified as Street (ST) or Off-road/Not maintained (OR supposed for 4X4)
Most of it drivable and may be the most important route for local or user that knew the road.
Why this passive RT needed? Majority of user not even know the unpaved switch exists,
so do to differentiate the unpaved segment shown in apps, this creates complexity for the user to use Waze very well.
Even with unpaved…9 votes -
Expand original category of a new place
Today, when adding a new place, we cannot assign to it a specific sub-category at once (except sub-categories of Car Services). We have to assign a generic category, then remove it and either enter the sub-category directly, or add again the proper category, expand it, and select the sub-category from the list. I suggest enabling expanding of the originally assigned category similar to categories added later.

Inclusão de Semáforos, sem ou radar de velocidade.
I propose the implementation of marking all traffic lights, even those without speed radar, in the Waze app’s mapping system. This feature aims to enhance the navigation experience, provide greater driver safety, and enable more accurate and efficient routes.
Including traffic lights on the Waze map would allow:
Greater Accuracy in Route Time Calculation: By accounting for waiting times at traffic lights, Waze’s algorithm could offer more precise route estimates, preventing unexpected delays for users.
Suggestion of Faster and Safer Routes: With the location of traffic lights known, Waze could suggest alternative routes, avoiding intersections that require longer waiting times…

Dead End Signs
Very important to have a dead end sign on the map before heading down that street, since many times waze will recommend certain roads even though it’s a dead end. Hope this was helpful and becomes a feature. Thank you.

Excluding Specific Road Types in Polygons Based Events
I would like to propose an improvement to the "Polygons Based Events" by adding an option to exclude certain types of roads, similar to the school zone alerts.
In my case, I want to set up a PBE for major roadworks, but a highway crosses at a lower level and will be notified of this event even though it is not affected.

Automatically add street when adding a point location
As a waze level 2 editor, when adding a residential place, I'd like for the street to be automatically pre-filled with the closest segment in the map.
I have been adding a lot of residential places in my zone and I have to copy the street name and paste in each place I add. This process would be more expedite if street name is filled with the closest segment on the map and would avoid errors of places in streets different than the one they are put into.

Validation workflow & access to all functions
Hello,
I'm a current level 3 Area Manager and every day I have to deal with bottlenecks because I don't have the necessary level to make changes.
So I have to find a L4 or L5 to do it, explain it to them and get the result.
This is very time-consuming and somewhat archaic these days.I'd like to suggest the following:
Be able to give all editors access to all functions or perhaps from L2 or L3 if we want there to be a minimum of editing experience. As well as adding a validation workflow for functions that currently…9 votes -
Better support for Rural map editors
I live in a VERY rural area. Quite often, I'll be driving but not get EA credit because I didn't have cell service. I can literally drive for 50+mi without any cell coverage. I drove 530 miles two days ago and maybe got credit for half of it.
I'd like it if map editors would have the ability to turn on some sort of feature in the app that saves their location history until cell service is restored. Also, as I have seen others suggest, a larger EA radius from a given drive would be very helpful out here as…

Streamlining changes for adding house numbers
I'd like to suggest two related changes regarding the addition of house numbers. These are small changes, but in UI design, frictions like this can add up when one is performing the same action over and over.
- Always keep the text field active when selecting a house number point
After clicking to add a house number, the text field to enter the number is automatically active and can be typed in (which is great!) But, when clicking and dragging either the house number itself or the entry point, the cursor goes away, and one has to click the number field…

Please add Japanese "Stop" signs and pedestrian crossings
In Japan, pedestrians are required to stop at places where there are stop signs and at crosswalks where there are pedestrians about to cross. In addition, pedestrians are required to slow down when crossing a crosswalk where it is unclear whether there are pedestrians about to cross. Violating these rules will result in police crackdowns and penalties such as fines being imposed on drivers. Currently, there are also "stop" cameras installed, but I understand that these are intended to draw attention to crackdown points. Instead, I would like to see signs and indications that there are crosswalks.
