What it says on the tin. I was using good ol' Master Chief for a LONG time; I found him pretty comforting to listen to, actually, despite not being really 'into' the Halo series of games.
I know, there's licensing fees and such associated with licensed characters, but the lack of video game related (or even pop culture) voices and themes is honestly tone-deaf and ignorant of modern society.
We've had a second (and way more coherent) Mario Bros. movie, we've had original game characters with cameos of well-known arcade classics in Wreck-It Ralph, and we've even had a Barbie movie and a Dungeons and Dragons movie in post-pandemic box offices across the world!
Listen, I'm not asking to hear Jack Black as Bowser giving me voice directions until the heat-death of the universe. I'd just like a familiar, friendly voice that I recognize and enjoy hearing giving my turn-by-turn directions.
I would spread the word like wildfire if Waze added some video game character voices and kept them around permanently this time... And you'd not believe the number of new users who will flock to Waze, if such a thing truly came to pass.
