Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Feature request: Add a "Police Checkpoint" category to Police reports
I'd like to suggest an enhancement to the existing Police report feature.
At the moment, Waze allows users to report police presence, but there is no way to indicate whether officers are simply parked on the roadside, conducting speed enforcement, or operating a checkpoint.
I suggest adding an optional category called "Checkpoint" under the Police report.
Examples could include:
Random breath testing
Drug testing operations
Licence and registration checkpoints
Border or security checkpointsThis would give drivers more accurate information about the situation ahead. It is not intended to help people avoid police. Rather, it allows drivers to understand what type of police activity they are approaching and to be prepared for a safe, orderly stop if required.
This would be a simple addition that could improve both the usefulness of Waze and road safety.
Thank you for considering the suggestion.

When I see police or a hazard on the road, by the time I report it, it is maybe 100 or 200 metres behind me now, and the app registers it as where the report was completed. There should be an option to click reportinstantly, and that is registered as a the location, not 200 metres down the road when the report is completed.
