The pause option would be a great replacement for the 'resume in 30 seconds' option on the Android client. What in the world could you possibly do in 30 seconds that would have a significant impact on the speed of traffic? Is this a hold over from iOS that couldn't multi-task?
Sure, "Don't speed" is a "simple" solution, but so is "don't look at Waze when you're driving because it means you're taking your eyes off the road, yet everyone here does that. I see people panic braking when they see a cop even if they're going below the speed limit.
If you don't want the notification because you're holier than thou and don't speed, then simply turn that notification off - it's really easy to do.
And, this issue seems to be like the one on Microsoft Excel's UV to quit mangling numbers when importing into an Excel file - it's been sitting there for more than a decade with thousands of up votes and it's been ignored too.
Big companies like to claim to listen to their users by putting up these sites, then they simply ignore them.
