Ability to increase font size.
Those of us who see distance fine but need reading glasses could use the abolity to increase street name and POI size. It's one if the reasons why I don't use Waze as often as I'd like to.
Many thanks
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

The Problem (Pain Point)
Currently, Waze mimics real-world road sign colors (such as yellow text on green backgrounds). While visually realistic, these color combinations can be incredibly difficult to read on small mobile phone screens. This is especially true for drivers with visual impairments, color blindness, or when experiencing screen glare in bright sunlight. Forcing a driver to squint at small, low-contrast text is a safety hazard. The Solution (Proposed Feature)
Introduce an option in the Accessibility Settings to toggle on "Simplified / High-Contrast Road Signs."
When enabled, this feature would:
* Flatten and Simplify: Replace complex or low-contrast color schemes with high-contrast alternatives (e.g., stark black text on a white background, or white text on a dark blue/black background).
* Color-Blind Friendly Palettes: Provide specific toggles for common color vision deficiencies (like Deuteranopia or Protanopia) where green/yellow combinations blend together.
* Enlarged Text Option: Slightly scale up the font size of the text within the sign bubble for better readability at a glance. The Benefits
* Enhanced Safety: Drivers can read upcoming exit names and highway signs in a split second, reducing screen-gaze time and distracted driving.
* Inclusivity: Makes Waze a market leader in navigation accessibility, catering to millions of drivers with varying visual acuities.
* Better Daytime Usability: High-contrast signs are much easier to read in direct sunlight when phone screens suffer from glare.
No everyone can use big screen mounted in our cars due to android auto software bugs or car is to old so car manufacturer doesn't bother to update car software and allow users to use android auto. Your help can significantly improve safety on the road while users can see signs with higher contrast. -

Hello Waze Support Team,
I would like to share an accessibility issue related to the speed limit warning in the Waze app.
I have a certain level of red color deficiency. When I exceed the speed limit, I can notice that the speed indicator color changes, so I understand that I am over the limit. However, I cannot clearly see the red number that shows how much I have exceeded the speed limit by.
This is especially difficult when I wear polarized sunglasses, and I also experience the same problem when sunlight falls directly on my phone screen.
Could you please consider improving the visibility of this number for users with color vision deficiencies? For example, stronger contrast, a different background, a thicker font, or a color-blind friendly option could help.
Thank you for considering this feedback.

I finally got my dad into waze and he cant see the speed zone with his glasses on for driving. An increase in font would help alot of elderly or vision impaired drivers.

When used while driving, I want to be able to see things as quickly and clearly as possible.
Thus, larger fonts and speed limit icons need the ability to be adjusted. Thank you!

Would you be open to sharing the roadmap? Limiting accessibility to users with perfect reading vision feels unfair and a waste. But if the roadmap shows tradeoffs that justify delaying this modification, it’d be helpful to know what they are.

Increasing font size for the speed limit and your speed in Waze would be such a useful feature. It’s not clear why this option is not provided, it’s so easy to do. I can do it for free if requested by Waze team.

This makes your app hard to use for every single farsighted person. Other apps have solved the problem, e g. Google maps. I would really like to use Waze but I can't read the darn street names on the map.

I mostly read online too. It's a learning experience for me. I found a great app that has a decent interface, font, and library. I recently read The Four Agreements. One of the first books I picked up was The Four Agreements https://makeheadway.com/library/books/the-four-agreements-summary/ by Don Miguel Ruiz. It blew me away. At first glance, it’s a small book. But don't let that fool you. The ideas inside are deceptively simple, yet profoundly impactful.
