Blitzer- und Gefahrenmeldungen
In vielen Städten wie Wuppertal veröffentlichen die Behörden wöchentlich Pläne, auf denen die Standorte mobiler Blitzer von Montag bis Freitag angekündigt werden. Mein Vorschlag ist, dass Waze diese offiziellen Daten automatisch integriert, um Nutzer:innen proaktiv zu warnen.
Vorteile:
- Höhere Genauigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit der Blitzerwarnungen durch offizielle Quellen.
- Zeitersparnis für Nutzer:innen, die Blitzer nicht manuell melden müssen.
- Bessere Verkehrssicherheit durch präzise Vorabinformationen.Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten:
1. Kooperation mit Städten, um digitale Pläne (z.B. via API) einzubinden.
2. Automatische Markierung der betroffenen Straßen mit Hinweisen wie:
„Hohe Wahrscheinlichkeit für mobilen Blitzer (Quelle: Stadt Wuppertal)“.Hinweis:

Add some ai smarts to Waze in its route planning concerning road steepness and car loading condition
I had to drive over Homestake Pass (an engine and transmission destroyer) in Montana while driving an old and overloaded car in July 2023. Your navigation program needs to have alternative routes built into it to choose from that are easier on a vehicle. I suggest you build that into the route planning. Use embedded AI if need be. If your software could ask the age and condition of the vehicle, it could using that information, suggest less troublesome routes. Am fortunate to be able to improvise. Based on daily accident reports, mark areas with a high frequency of accidents as high-risk. Provide a voice warning: "You are approaching a dangerous area with a high concentration of traffic accidents - drive with increased caution!"In urban conditions, it can also be applied to dangerous intersections: "Dangerous intersection ahead."
For turns where accidents are often marked: "Caution, dangerous turn ahead!"
These voice warnings could greatly contribute to the safety of road users. It is important that they have a voice alert before entering the specific section.

show blocked lanes
When exiting for example it shows which lane to take. But if there is a blocked lane then it doesnt show it in the lanes. It might help with confusion

Emergency vehicle
Clicking/ reporting for an emergency vehicle should be for stopped emergency vehicles and accidents.
It drives me crazy when people are clicking emergency vehicle just because they are passing by which is NOT helpful. This is apparently unclear. Would you kindly make a post that populates with the next update to inform wazers not to click for non-stopped emergency vehicles?4 votes -
Truck routes
Waze dev team,
Please consider an option for drivers (Waze users) to enter in their vehicle height so that Waze can provide them with suitable routes, avoiding routes with low bridges/clearance?
This would be applicable for truck drivers, tradespeople with work vans and work equipment on roof as well as casual drivers with trailers.
Reason for this is to avoid the frequent low bridge collisions or congestion due to truck having to back out of road.
In Australia, prior to GPS maps such as Waze or Google Maps, we used to have truck edition of paper maps or map books…

Provide opportunity for users to test before you make any "improvements"
Recently an update was made in ROUTES display. It is worse than the original, and support team calls it improvement. When on "maps" it used to have color distinct separation, options were on top of the screen in smaller bubbles so you could click and see everything on one screen to select. Now first option is on the bottom in the big bubble, and you have to pull it up to see other suggested routes, which changes from map to list, so it's a lot of clicking back and forth. VERY user unfriendly. Not sure who gets these ideas and…

Keyboard missing on vehiscle screen when using Apple Car Play
The Keyboard is missing on the vehicle screen when using Apple Car Play. This forces the use of the app on the phone to enter a destination. Totally user unfriendly. The microphone function isn't totally reliable and can be frustrating.

Green Wave Zones
Hello everyone! I really regretted that the Waze development team ignored the users request and did not develop to the Average Speed Zone (ASZ) remaining time slot indicator. I continue to support the idea that there should be indikator, some kind of speeding explanation is not appropriate here. If needed, the indicator can be rounded (e.g. like the EU required false speedometer displaing) or some other a bit fuzzied indication can be shown. However, it would now be a suggestion to take advantage of the built ASZ logics and use exactly the same functionality for the up Green Wave Zone…

Speed Bump Permanent Hazard Notifications Persistence
The notifications for speed bump style permanent hazards should not stay on screen, once the driver has already driven past it. It does not add any meaningful information to the drive and only acts as a distraction or blocks part of the screen.

Repositioning icons
In Car play (UK), the lower right popup menus have options that are horizontal, this makes pressing them while driving awkward, as you need to twist your finger sideways to press the right option, could the option boxes be made either square(a bit larger) or vertical rectangles next to each other, allowing a more natural tap to use.
Also the latest version of the App seems to have moved the destination selection options all over the place some on the top toolbar and some on the map. The previous toolbar with all destination options along the top was much more…1 vote -
Police and radar on the side of the road
Hello. The idea would be that each time a police report is made, that it would either make an alarm or alert message at least 1000 to 2000 meters before reaching the police report or that it would add to the route a highlighted section of 1000 to 2000 meters similarly to the traffic jam report before reaching the actual police reported point. Sometimes the radar is hidden way before the visible police car, the latter being the interception unit and not the measuring unit.
