Route color change after we past it
As we all know, from route planning to until we get to the target, the track color is the same (purple by default).
The problem is that the section we past and the section we are going to is in the same color.
Since the software can identify the direction of motion, I suggest that every section of the planned route that we passed will return to normal color of the map or will fade to make a Separation from the section which you are traveling to.

Traffic incidents, Speed traps Police Trap
Dear S/M
Im a very keen Waze user, the only suggestion I would like to make is regarding announcements of speed and police traps or other traffic incidents. These according to my driving experience using Waze should be made not only once or little bit earlier but also at least three times (for ex. 1x1000m 2x500m 3x200m) before arriving at the certain point.
Especially the ones reported by the other Waze users, because oftenly for example when I see something to report, it takes other 200-300 meters until I take the phone in my hand and finally push the reporting…7 votes -
Add Realtime Odometer/Points Counter
Add a realtime odometer/points counter as an extra feature in the app. This is to help avoid points not being added to scoreboard. Points recorded in counter should not clear until server updates scores.

Pictures we take and from within Waze and post to Waze should also store in our Smartphone Photos.
I recently drove past a car engulfed in flames, shot it and posted to the Waze community as a Hazard. The picture was very striking and I wanted to send it to my brother later and assumed it would be in my iPhone Photos, but it wasn't. I assume then pix taken from inside Waze don't store on our phones? If not a missed setting on my part, I would highly request that we get to keep the photos we shoot while within Waze. Perhaps this should be a Setting. I wouldn't ask the user each time a picture is…

Removing C3PO
Please tell me how to remove the C3PO voice and revert to the original. This is really getting on my nerves. This is a lesson in how to screw up a great app. It should be a configuration option. Bad Google!!

Warning window not strategically placed
Currently, the warning window (police, hazard, etc.) pop-up on the top right corner of the screen. It takes quite a big portion of the screen, blocking the ahead map. For example, when it pops-up near a complex intersection, I can't see which right turn to take because it's blocked by the (less important) warning window.
I think this is very important issue to be addressed. The warning window can be placed on the bottom left or right in form of a thin rectangle, even transparent one would suffice.

Implement a setting for winter tires with studs and help the driver to avoid forbidden streets. In urban areas in the Nordic countries it is becoming more common that local politicians forbid driving cars with winter tires with studs on some streets with high pollution. When creating a route to a destination, Waze do not take into account that some of the streets may be restricted due to this. This is becoming a problem since the driver need to be a local to know where not to drive. Signs showing the restriction are always present but will be noticed too…

Carpool
It would be great to be able to tell the app that we are a carpool and get adjusted travel time predictions and routes maximizing use of HOV lanes when beneficial

Identify drunk driver.
Tonight I clearly saw a person who was driving drunk and was driving erraticly, swerving, etc. Identifying this for police officers would be huge so that action can be taken to get these driver's - whatever the situation (drunk or otherwise) to keep other drivers safe.

Add an "Avoid traffic" routing option
I don't mind adding a few minutes to my trip if it means I can keep moving and not get stuck in traffic. Waze already has the data to make this type of routing possible.

Display alternative ETA's at junctions
When I'm driving towards an intersection junction along my route with several route alternatives, I would like a feature that displays hor much longer those alternative route choices are.
Why?
1) My commute has several alternative route choices that differ in meters and seconds.2) The first Waze default route choice is not always best.
3) Sometimes I can plan my route better than Waze, and don't always choose the Waze route.
4) Sometimes I prefer some variety in my daily commute.
5) Sometimes I want to choose a different route just so I can see something different.

Place Photos
To report a Place via the client, the user is required to first take a photo before entering any details.
This process should be changed as it:
discourages Wazers from adding a Place if it is dark/raining or other factors prevent them from taking a satisfactory photo, and;
results in ineffective photos (blurry, dark, inappropriate) being added which do not fulfil the intended purpose of assisting other Wazers to identify the Place.
Making Photos optional when adding a Place, and adding the ability to upload from the Camera Roll/Computer/etc, would improve the Waze map by enabling Wazers to add Places…

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not planned since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.

instant (just in time) ridesharing
hello,
currently I've noticed that waze start to offer ridesharing. And I've idea to make it far better: "hiker" demand ride - app'll seek for a best match which fits his requirements ( destination/ radius from dest & other optional params) in radius of ~3km or time limit...
then notify both sides by voice when they're gettin near each other. It's meant like pick passengers along the road - with don't care attitude - you do not have to check when & where you gonna pick passengers ("hikers") before ride - plan your ride "in advance" & be bothered by…1 voteThanks for your feedback.
