Waze does not support turning off Express lanes.

I live in Texas where Express lanes can be very expensive especially during rush hour. Several times Waze has taken me on express lane routes instead of a slightly slower route that avoids Express lanes.

Each Express lane gate can be $4 at peak times and you can easily rack up $20 in charges because Waze decided it was 5 minutes quicker to go that way. Waze knows its an express way, its not like they have to code every specific expressway into their system.

"Great news! The option to disable HOV lanes is now available in Waze," says staff.

There is *not* an option to disable HOV Lanes. Only avoid toll roads completely.

Hmm... Admin says the feature was added last July but I still don't have it. We spent most of our 3-hour drive today being to told to get on the express lane WHEN WE WERE ALREADY IN IT, so we could never see when our next freeway change was. Boo, hiss.

Option to Remove HOV lane driving. Waze cannot determin if I qualify to use HOV lanes during my trip ony I can make that determination. Waze is asking me to violate the laws in the state by suggesting I use these restricted lanes. Also, in some situations, these suggestions change the traffic patterns, times and distance of planned routes making the information Waze displays completely inaccurate. Since this causes the app to not function as intended, I suggest an option to disable any restrictive lane use when planning trip.

The app now chooses the HOV lane for off times, even though there is no HOV option picked. This is bullshit because I don't want to use the HOV lane because I don't want to drive 80 miles per hour. I contacted Waze about this. They say it's not their issue because the app is working the way it should be. They should put in an option to avoid HOV lane like avoiding ferries!
And as you can see, they're so many people asking for this option from all over the country!

Great idea! I hate using the Greenway.

There are many Northern VA drivers that avoid the Greenway tolls for a number of reasons but pay all other tolls (Dulles tollroad) etc. The Greenway is a ripoff. That part of the highway is privately held and was built with dirty politics. For principal sake many drivers avoid it. Waze only allows all or nothing avoid tolls and not. Thus Waze is seldom useful without a whole lot of fiddling around to do. Add toll choices to avoid or at least avoid Greenway

When chosing to avoid toll roads, it would be usfull to have an option to choose days and hours to force the option. For instance, i want to use toll roads only on work days and work hours, but to avoid toll roads on weekends and at night.

does waze have a feature to avoid pay tolls that would be a good feature app

The ability to opt out of using HOV lanes should be available for routing options

לא נוח ללחוץ כל פעם 'הימנע מכבישי אגרה' וגם לא טוב ששינוי המסלול מבוצע אוטומטית ולא משקף שאתה מועבר למסלול בתשלום.

או להגדיר שאם בחרתי במסלול ללא אגרה, לא אופנה לכביש אגרה אוטומטית, או לפחות שתקפוץ שאלה: האם מעוניין במסלול קצר יותר דרך כביש אגרה? וכך אוכל להשיב לא תוך כדי נסיעה, במקום ללכת שוב ושוב למסלולים ולבחור את הדרך ללא אגרה

Block specific toll roads to avoid high tolls, kind of like blocking a phone number to avoid spam calls; that way the faster route will be calculated without that particular road or roads. We have one toll road in Richmond that charges $4.50 regardless of using the first exit or the last one. Such a rip off. All other tolls are $0.70. So I want to be able to put that road on a block list, so waze will still calculate the fastest route, but avoid I895, even if it takes me on other toll roads. just not that one.

Pourriez-vous faire comme sur Goolge maps, donnez la possibilité de désactiver les routes à péages au moment où l'on recherche notre trajet. Cela éviterait d'aller dans les paramètres de waze.

I agree! The tolls for express lanes in my area are exorbitant and I refuse to use them, but I need to cross toll bridges, so I can't simply turn off the 'toll roads' option.

Great idea. I have similar situation in Poland. Some highways are more expensive than another's. This option to "dislike" some roads will be nice improvement.

Allow the user to decide when starting his drive to avoid toll roads on this trip only. There's a problem with having the 'avoid toll roads' setting usually off, and then deciding to take toll free route for a certain drive. Once a route is changed during the drive, Waze will sometimes suggest the toll road even though the initial selection was a toll free route. Having to change the setting before and after a single non-regular drive is inconvenient. My suggestion is that when the trip starts the user will be able to reverse his setting for 'avoid toll roads' for one trip only. After the destination was reached, a destination was changed, or the user exited the app, the setting will automatically be restored to what is was. If the user has in their settings 'avoid toll roads' on - Waze will allow for this one next trip to suggest toll road routes. If the 'avoid toll roads' setting is off - the user will be able to turn it on for one trip.

There needs to be a function to avoid a specific road, or at least to avoid tolls with BS prices. $5.50 to save 5 minutes and your routes function doesn't give me the alternatives I know exist? That's absolutely ridiculous. Your different routes function should be able to avoid outlandish tolls while still showing $1.50 tolls.

Recently in December 2018 the default behavior of Waze changed to avoid Toll Roads that require vignette unless you add vignette in settings (Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, ...).

I used Waze to plan a trip in Czech Republic and it showed me route that avoided highways so I thought that there is some accident or heavy traffic and that's why it avoids highway. Later I realized that a new option appeared and that I have to explicitly enter Czech vignette to settings to be able to use highways! Waze did not tell me (or I missed it) so out of sudden the default behavior changed and it took me some time and few drives to realize that.

It feels quite dangerous to change this behavior by default. All users are used to way how Waze toll roads work so if you add a new feature - vignettes - you should make it opt-in for users that want that behavior or for new users where you guide them through initial setup and clearly describe how it works.

I'm pretty sure that now lots of people in Europe are driving on local roads because they are not aware that Waze is not letting them on highways in their home country because they haven't gone to settings and haven't add their local vignette.
