Quick-report presets
The amount of phone interaction required for reporting is a bit onerous while driving. Tap to Report > select category > add optional additional info > send. I often skip reporting altogether to avoid distracting from driving.
I would love to see the ability to have one-touch presets for making reports from the main screen. A single tap to mark & send a report on an accident, hazard, or speedtrap, etc.
User might even be allowed to customize which presets are present and/or include specific text (i.e. "Left lane closed") for frequent events.
We plan to work on Quick-report presets in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

I really need such a button. Better, allow the user to set up hot buttons to provide a function of the user's choice. "Visible Police" would be useful, I think.

To be able to switch to motorcycle option, and get offered the motorcycle route or not, but limited icons when ready to indicate a hazard , our main issues are object on road , police and traffic

When reporting cars on the road, can you make how you report police? Hit the orange button then click on car stopped on road or shoulder.
Right now you have to click the screen 4 times to report a stalled car.

I fully support and highly recommend this addition to the app. It takes too many presses and too much time to add an hazard, or police sighting. I suggest calling it a QWaze, quick Waze, one touch and the map addition is added.Much safer and much easier and quicker. If I had this ability I'd add an icon for police and one for car on the shoulder.

Now to change sound settings I must hit the volume button then it gets bigger and must hit it a second time then choose “sounds on or alerts only”, then “resume”! 4 steps that take focus from the road-dangerous! Make it a big button on the main screen that you can just tap once !! Safer!
Thankyou 🙏🏽💝 -

I have often thought that the hazard notification functionality is not very safe to use when the car is moving, too much time spent looking at screen rather than the road ahead and when you do eventually post the update it`s map position will not be overly accurate.
Would it not be a good idea to be able to add shortcuts to the map display which would be user configurable. So for instance a single touch button for a stationary vehicle on the hard shoulder on your side of the rd and or pot hole warning. This would have the benefit of a accurate map position and most importantly less time spent looking at the app scrn.

Very dangerous behavior to report something. 5 (!) touches in different part of the screen, FIVE! while driving.
Imagine you are driving and goes to dangerous road with pits, potholes... You want to warn others and try to report while driving between pits with 5 steps in WAZE.
Unbelievable! -

I have found that the two warnings I most report are police and a vehicle on the side of the road. It would be nice to have these two icons on the main view to click quickly to avoid distracted driving. Or have an option to place any two quick icons on the main view.

Eliminate multiple screen touches to post common user updates, HIDDEN POLICE, CAR on Shoulder, etc. User can create 5 favorite updates for simple, fast map posts.

Would like to suggest creating icons that would fit on the Waze screen that would allow for 1 click reporting of road hazards ahead, Car on shoulder, car in roadway, Police....ect..... the icons should be editable to what is u see most. There is plenty of room on Waze screen to add say 2 or 3 icons...

It would be nice to have a one-tap hazard button that we can customize to the hazard we see most often, in my case is vehicle stopped on shoulder. Navigation through the menu while driving isn’t always ideal. If there was one button to shortcut that I think it would save time, be safer, and result in more reports. Would need to work with Apple CarPlay as well.

I would like to be able to use something similar to the "Later" option to quickly access a list of report options that I would commonly use in the app when I am on road trips. The Favorites shortcut would appear in a manner similar to the big icon you get after you use the "Later" option on a particular report. Once you click on that Favorites shortcut, you could get a list of the exact things you may want to report while driving. This would make the process way more efficient (instead of having to do a sequence of several clicks through sub-menus to get to those same options). To build the Favorites list, a bi-state selection on each reporting option so that it can be quickly added to or removed from the favorites.

Having to find and click on five different options is dangerous as well as a lot of items to mess with for one commonly seen incident

I would like to suggest 3 improvements:
1) the buttons most frequently used or preferred by the wazer (eg road works, speed cameras) must be accessible with a shortcut (now to report a work on the road I have to select 4 buttons); -

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Having to touch screen 5!!! times, just to report 1 vehicle stopped on the shoulder, is completely unnecessary risk for the driver, who needs to pay attention to the road instead of trying to continuesly trying to select a button on the SCREEN, in a MOVING vehicle.Large part of the issue can be solved by implementing the following simple, yet very effective and practical feature, , that could improve the safety of drivers.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
Customizable shortcuts on the main screen of navigation; allow user to create custom shortcuts in order to report any kind of traffic conditions.Instead of having to go through several screens in order to submit a report (police, disabled vehicle etc), user could use a single tap shortcut button on the screen of navigation.
There could be 3-4 customizable shortcuts. Shortcuts' default function can be set to the 'most often used type of reports.BENEFITS
- Reduced time for submitting reports.
- SAFER driving, as user uses less time of paying attention to the phone screen, and has more opportunity for focusing on the road and avoiding accidents (SIGNIFICANT BENEFIT)
- Overall improved user experience.PRE-CONDITIONS
- Waze is operating in a normal driving mode with or without end destination.USE CASE
1. User wants to report a condition on the road, yet to be reported by other Waze users.
2. User selects a shortcut button on the screen, that is set to a custom or most often used type of report.
3. If desired shortcut isn't available, then user may use normal procedure to submit a report.POST-CONDITION
- New report has been submitted by the driver, describing a desired condition on the road map.
-Waze is operating in a normal driving mode with or without end destination.I truly hope that Waze takes my feedback into consideration, and perhaps it would safe someone from getting into an accident, and even losing their life.

4 years later and we still don't have this as an option to enable and configure?
If seems so trivial to implement but so much safer than the multiple presses needed currently.
Have I missed something where Waze have stated its not possible for some reason?

It takes 3-4 taps to report anything. Too dangerous while driving, so I've stopped reporting. Please give 1 or 2 bubbles on the map that I can add the hazard that I report the most often.

The long press quick menu is an improvement but it still requires 2 more menu levels to post. Instead add function to allow user to add customized quick report buttons to the map. For example, probably 90% of my reports are hazard/vehicle/side of road. Instead of multiple menu levels, I should be able to press one button on the map to make this report. Users could customize their own for the top 2-3 they use. To prevent accidental reports, the app could require a double tap. This would greatly improve the functionality and safety of the app
