Quick-report presets
The amount of phone interaction required for reporting is a bit onerous while driving. Tap to Report > select category > add optional additional info > send. I often skip reporting altogether to avoid distracting from driving.
I would love to see the ability to have one-touch presets for making reports from the main screen. A single tap to mark & send a report on an accident, hazard, or speedtrap, etc.
User might even be allowed to customize which presets are present and/or include specific text (i.e. "Left lane closed") for frequent events.

We plan to work on Quick-report presets in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

Would be very helpful if we could have in the Waze main navigation screen shortcuts to make reports. For example, I could configure my main screen to have 2 additional icons, one to report dense trafic and another one to report construction. A user sholud be able to:
- Configure which shortcuts should be shown in the navigation screen
- Configure the actions each icon should do
- Move freely those new icons on the navigation screen, so the user can place then wherever feels it's more comfortable
- Once the user selects the shortcut, automatically sends the report, without further confirmation -

The new version is a pain to flag vehicles stopped on shoulder. The previous version I could go from "Hazard" to "Shoulder" to "Vehicle Stopped" without moving my finger on the screen. The new one forces me to move for every button.

Hi Wazers,
Thanks for creating such a great app. I use it whenever I drive.
One Waze feature that helps a lot is the alerts --- police, road hazard, etc.
I really appreciate other people giving out the alerts!
How could I not returning the favor to give others the same alerts when I see police and car stopping on the side?
I want to, but it is really cumbersome to do that---there are just TOO MANY clicks in order to send an alert. Driving at 75mile/per hour, the longer the time to do Waze alert, the more danger it becomes.
For example, in order to send road hazard:
1. Click the orange circle
2. Click Hazard circle
3. Click Shoulder
4. Click Vehicle stopped
5. Click Send
It is 5 clicks, which not safe for me to do when driving at high speed on the highway.
Here is my daring suggesting---ONE CLICK alert.
Details:
While it is good that Wave has many alerts, but I am sure many people like myself are only reporting fraction of those alerts. Personally, I only interested 1) Police 2) Road Hazard on the Side 3) Road Hazard on the Road.
So, I am wondering if Wave can allow user to create 3 short-cuts to 3 frequently used, favorite alerts. And put those short-cuts onto the main screen’s “Good morning” area, which I felt is the perfect location, under-utilized area right now.
Once a alert short-cut is created and placed onto the main screen, user can just click that short-cut and an alert is sent; no need to click a send button; one click only.
To be a bit fancy, to prevent sending a wrong alert, clicking a short-cut will pop-up a 1-sec transient message box stating sending “xxx alert” (use a logo is better, because reading takes time), with a big cancel button on the button. If a user accidently hitting a wrong short-cut, he/she can cancel the alert within 1-sec.
Again, thank you for creating such a useful app for the drivers!

Direct Buttons on the screen, so you can inform easier and faster about things, they happend very often on your route. For example you gote one for speed control and one for traffic, so you could press this button and must only choose, what kind of speed control it is or you got a long traffic jam on the opposite direction, you can report it easier. Now you have to look precise to find the right button for the report and than its not only one, you have to push the right one and it could be more easier. Thats only my opinion ! Thanks! Marc

YES this is a brilliant idea, I had it to, but glad to vote for it here. 99% of everything I report is car on shoulder and police. It takes 4+ button presses to report this stuff when it should take 1. There is certainly space on the screen for it. Make custom buttons/shortcut bookmarks for frequently reported items or something like that.

Allow single-click traffic reporting by allowing user add their common report icons on front navigation screen. Currently too many clicks to add a report (safely). In my case the most usual reports are Heavy traffic, Standstill, police, minor accident. Would love to be able to simply fast-click these icons on the front navigation screen.
Great app though.

Keep 3 buttons on screen at same time ie police, traffic jam, accident. This will allow 1 tap instead of 2 plus easier to tap on larger iPhone map screen. Very helpful for motorcycle riders - thank you

It is SOOOOOOOOO common to find holes in the road in Mexico city (ANYWHERE, streets, boulevards, avenues, high speed roads, ANYWHERE), so I would like to report EVERYSINGLE DAMN HOLE EVERYSINGLE TIME. I have spent almost 2000 USD on tires in this damn city, and if we can configure just 1 button for these kind of purposes I guess it would be helpful for all wazers.

I would like an icon for the police on the front screen, so that when I'm driving by one, I can do a quick report as I'm usually by myself. I like being able to contribute when I can.
But by the time I click orange circle, then the policeman, then the visible or not or on the other side, I am way past where he was to begin with.
I run waze through my bluetooth speaker and when I am notified I slow down and look for him and will click the not there or thumbs up...

I find that the most occurring need when I use Waze is the need to post a hazard or police notification.
It is currently a like a 5 step process! This is DANGEROUS!!!
By the time you have safely posted a hazard you are a mile or more past it. Often I get frustrated and do not bother even to post it.
The police notification is one of the coolest functions and the hazard notification (especially in road) is one of most helpful.
But if it is hard to use...then people often don't bother.
So:
1. Shortcut to instantly post a hazard
2. Shortcut to instantly post a policeman checking radar. -

Why not having a button for potholes?
as option users would choose between service covers, small and large potholes (say small if up to 1 meter long and large anything over 1m)
If not asking for too much, then Waze would report them to either councils or to the various websites available. -

One-button reporting would allow fast, safe reporting of the most common hazards without having to navigate menus. Today, reporting a car on the shoulder is a 5-button press navigation - hardly safe at 70 mph. I suggest one quick click, and it is reported.

I often see several reports for a police at the same spot. Instead of just hitting "Thanks" to confirm that there's a police there, people will create a new report just to get the credit/points for it. So I often see 3 or 4 police reports at the same place.
If a Thanks would worth the same amount of points than the actual report, maybe people would stop repeatedly report the same thing.
It's also causing problem when the even is over, Waze only permits one "Not There" report in the same spot. So let's say there's 4 reports for the same event, 4 different drivers would need to hit "Not There" to get rid of it on the map.
