Waze users have only 2 options while using the app - location services are either always on or never. Waze should add thhe "only when using app" option as it consumes less power.

This is absurd this has been open for over a year.

I love Waze and I didn't want to delete it so I manually have to turn this option on and off when and after using the app. I see no use for such an option other than for my location to be tracked and then sold thanks to Google being the top dog for Waze now. Such a shame, Google ruins the privacy of its users. Can we please get this resolved, its a simple fix.

Furthermore to all comments relating to this request, when settings are set to "always" it eats up a LOT of data on the cellphone plans. I started using Waze again in the last 2 month and each time i wish to use Waze, I have to go into the settings, change from "never" to "always", use Waze app, then turn off the settings again after. I've had Waze for over 2 years and after this past month, I remembered why I stopped using it.

Offer the 'while using the app' in location services instead of 'Always' or 'Never'.....saves my battery life!!!!!

I have also stopped using the APP because of this option.

Please add the feature "while using the app". Your app drains out iPhone's battery rapidly, add this feature before someone files class action lawsuit using the gps constantly for advertisement... There are tons of people asking this feature. I didn't see that the app will be using the gps at all time in the notice nor there is a warning!!! This is not a threat. It's just an important friendly feedback!!! Thank you!

if this was an option, i would use waze MUCH more than i do now; as a preservation of battery, and privacy

Please make this an option so I don't have to constantly turn on&off the Location Services. Please !!!! Every time there is an update, I look for that option. It is the only complaint I hear from people about Waze.

Please make an option to select that only uses then location while the app I is actually being used. Currently it's on 100% of the time and its killing the battery. There's absolutely no reason to use it all day

Not only does this drain the battery but it's also a violation of of our privacy and security. I don't want the app and your company to always know where I am.

Waze and Waze Dev department. Please wake up! Not having this option is a direct violation of our privacy and security! Please fix it!

Please make an option to use gps while using the waze app. So that's it will not run at the background which sucks the battery out of it. Thanks

Why cant they change location to while using the app?!?!?!

i can see no advantage for me as a user of you tracking me when i am not using the app.

Nobody like having the battery drain faster then it supposed too, and most already not the iPhone battery isn't that great (iPhone 6S is my device)

So with that said having the Location Services forced to "Always" is only going to make things even worse. I usually get a whole day out of my phone, ever since i installed Waze it died before the day was over. Naughty Waze!!

I am requesting that, Waze supports "While using that App" functionality in Location Services for iPhone, it saves the battery and Waze still works the way it supposed to without causing problems.

It only currently has the "always" or "never" option for the location services. It would be amazing if you could include the "while using" option

Allow "when using" to be a setting that is available for your location. I only have "always" and "never"- killing my data and battery everyday.
