It would be terrific if Waze could save a route that is taken often and not one of the suggested routes. I used to drive home using back roads that were not suggested routes. Each day I would get a number of "turn left at **** road" and I continued on straight. Why can't I save my own route?

Absolutely - i've just been trying to do this to 'Fix' an optimum route i.e to get off the M25 ASAP and accept a slightly longer, slower but more predictable route as far as journey time is concerned to get to a funeral on time
However, I resorted to 'googling' how to do this only to find I cant, so please add my voice to requesting this enhancement be made available soon

Please! I'd love to have this automatically "save" routes traveled after 5 times or allow me to save prefered routes as it is always "suggesting" I go other ways. It would only warn you then, if there were problems on that "saved" route and suggest alternatives. It would save me having to verbally argue with Waze while I'm traveling on the same route I always take.

Aside from the top 3 routes, maybe Waze can give an option that the user will determine its preferred road/route (which is different from the 3) then Waze will calculate the ETA. This way, Waze can help the user determine and comapre the user's preferred or known route with the other 3.

Create my personal route for a saved location.

I want to have my own commuting route based on my personal preferences, not just the Waze options for best route for distance/time.

Why?
Because My Route is a personal route based on My preferences. My Route might be based on my favorite coffee place, safety, scenery, road conditions...or anything I prefer.

Give users a way to save a route after they reach their destination. That way, if it works for them, let them use it every day instead of changing up routes every day for the sake of 2 to 3 minutes.

I concur - I sometimes plan a specific route that has little to do with efficiency (for example, on vacation I may want to drive along the coastal roads for the view rather than the straighter/faster highway that's several miles inland). I can create a specific route with Google Maps - and even save it as a URL that I can reload later. I'd like to be able to do this with Waze as well.

I have routes that are safer and easier to drive, even though they may not be the fastest or cheapest. It would be handy to be able to save these routes, and possibly share them with others. This is especially useful at night, when it can be difficult to see and one wants to avoid risky areas/roads.

Allow the route choices to be dragged to other routes as there may be a preferred route, but it won't pick it up and then there are no incident reports available or issues to decide if that's still a route of choice..

Agreed. I want to be able to put in my 3 or so favorite routes to/from work, and have Waze compare and estimate ETA for each of them on a regular basis please.

When traffic is really bad, waze takes me home on some really nice backroads avoiding the congested highways. Would be nice if waze allowed me to save those alternate routes so I can drive them again regardless of how clear the highway is...

Would like this app...to plan a route and save for use for Driver Training purposes. This would be usefull at dufferent sites/areas for different clienrs

I agree. I have preferred routes and I would like to always be able to compare the driving time for my preferred route vs the other recommended routes. Some of the recommended routes are very hectic to drive and if I'm not saving more than 5 minutes I will still take my slightly slower, but preferred route. On some routes there is an option of taking car lanes vs. cars/trucks. I would prefer to take cars only, but would like to know how much time it will add, if any. There is no reason why this feature could not easily be added. It seems to be a popular request.

I agree, I travelled from Whangarei to Kaitaia last week and Waze wanted to take me off State Highway One and around some back roads then link me back onto State Highway one fifteen or so Km further North, I know the road well and kept going however I pity some poor tourist who has no idea where they are going (yes this is a tourist destination) you would surly think that any mapping program would know that State Hwy 1 is a major and open road and would at least bring it up as an alternative route and not need any user input.
Not all locals and tourists have Waze so it could take a long time before the map gets enough user input to trigger an update.
I have tryed to do a map edit but the map is locked, it is very confusing on how to request a map edit and I simply have not the time to sit down and try to nut it out, one simple button requesting the change would be a start.
Please do not take this as being a negative but a suggestion to make this a better product.

I've heard of a "back way" to get to the beach. I want to be able to enter the route manually and follow directions. As it is now, I have to drive it a few times for Waze to get to know it.
I also want to be able to send it to friends.
