What’s weird about this is I have an iPhone 6s and I have the EXACT opposite problem that I cannot fix despite trying all the suggested fixes. My music is barely loud enough to hear but the wayz directions are loud enough to blow the car speakers and my ear drums. If I turn down ways volume it turns down music volume so low I can’t hear my music. If my music is at a volume passengers can enjoy they are blasted to death by the Waze directions. It’s THE WORST EVER! The music and the wayz volume do not seem to work apart from each other and the volumes are so opposite it’s impossible to have both music and directions at a pleasant level simultaneously. So annoying.

WAZE not loud enough when my windows are open in the summer. I have volume set to on and phone on high. I have a Samsung J3 6. Thank you.

Not really "completed". The latest update has the Waze volume 3x as loud as the audio! There should be volume "+" and "-" controls instead of simply on and off.

Don't know if this has been fixed or not, but a quick search of the forum suggests it hasn't. Sadly. For a good few years. Which blows.
I have an iPhone 6S running the latest iOS. When using WAZE via bluetooth as I am SPOTIFY or Soundcloud the same way thru my car's system WAZE's voice directions are REALLY quiet. I have the app volume at 100.
Even turning my car stereo volume does nothing as while the music is blaring at "11" the voice directions are barely a 6 on the Spinal Tap volume scale. Is it just a known issue that hasnt been fixed because noone can be arsed? Every other app that feeds me information or directions on my phone has no problem in coming thru the speakers at the volume of the rest of everything else, and it was suggested to me that WAZE is a good map app to use for Uber since I picked up extra hours with them. I don't want to be craning my neck trying to listen to some whispering librarian voice when someone in the back is talking over everything about the game or whatever.
Anyone know if this has been resolved or if there is a solution? Thanks!

I just signed up for WAZE and love it already! Two issues: volume needs to be tweaked so it's the same volume as radio. Right now, I have to blast the radio to get Waze volume loud enough to hear instructions. Also, it would be good if there was also a 200 FT alert before a turn, naming the street again.
I'm really excited about this app and want to say THANKS for creating it! -

I use a audio plug to connect to my car radio. When I am listening to Google music from my phone on android jellybean the's waze sound overpowers the Google music output. There is really no way to lower the sound in android settings. Waze needs to have its own volume control setting for output. So annoying it's almost impossible to use.

My ability to hear voice navigational instructions has disappeared. Is there an on/off "switch"?

the app keeps openning on it's own. I have not tapped the icon and it will still just open up and then it won't close even if I keep tapping close/back button. So far I have not used it for navigation as it is very confusing to me and difficult to read/understand. I don't get how people figure it out nor can see it while driving.

It doesn't really matter, does it? commented
Volume of guidance instructions when played back through bluetooth is deafening and does not respond to the volume control of the app or the iPhone 43. At the same time warnings (e.g. speed cameras) do not come over bluetooth but come from the phone's speaker and are inaudible. Rubbish. Gone to buy a TomTom

No voice or volume at all since the latest update. Have Sounds On, volume all the way up, play sound to phone speaker selected and still ZERO sound. FAIL

Waze cannot play period when USB is plugged in for signal or power. The iPhone 5 with 7.0 palys music and calls fine when plugged in.
Waze has a big bug to fix.

Since the latest update, the voice directions default back to the lowest volume every time I close and then open the program. Doesn't matter that the slider in sound settings is at maximum. In addition, while it used to increase volume in the app through the volume controls on the iPhone, that feature disappeared in the latest update, so that I can only increase it when a sound is playing. Which is a lovely hazard while driving. And what's the point if it defaults back to zero when the app closes down?

Sound works... Then sound doesn't work. It works.. And again not work. Pathetic bug in an otherwise excellent app. Software engineers at Waze, are you ok with quality of your work?

Just downloaded waze. Potentially it can be a fantastic app......but I can barely hear the travel instructions. I've tried adjusting the volume control on my iPhone and the slider in the appt with out success.
Unfortunately the appt, is for me, unusable and I'll be deleting it.....pity! -

volume level is unpredictable on my iphone, especially when using a bluetooth.
First of all, the volume control on the blue tooth should work and be obeyed by waze! WAZE does NOT obey the iphone volume controls.
If the prompts are too loud and I turn the volume down with the control on the blue tooth or the control on the iphone, the next prompt is back at full volume! Likewise if the volume level is too low and I try to turn it up, it goes back down on the next prompt.
Usually, it is too loud and NOT controlled by the 'settings: sound:device volume / prompts volume' settings. (why two setting controls? Which one does what????
AFTER I use three fingers to allow me to submit a voice report for a traffic hazard, the volume usually drops to one of the settings (I have not determined which controls).
After I use voice to report a hazard, the phone seems to become deaf. It says 'can not hear you, try again.... cancelled' for all subsequent attempts to report hazards unless I stop navigation, turn off WAZE and start navigation again. This is NOT good! When there are hazards, I don't have time to fight with WAZE! It is great to be able to voice report a hazard but there are often multiple hazards that need reporting.
Also, the voice prompts seem to interfere with voice reporting of hazards. If the audio and voice can not duplex properly, then the hazard reporting should be 'placed on temporary hold' until the navigation prompts finish playing, then the voice prompt for the hazard report should be repeated.
"Voice Prompts" keeps turning 'off' for no apparent reason AND perhaps after each new update.
In any case, both sound out and voice control need some serious programming work and as well as more clarity on "the controls" are meant to do.

To those who think muting works, it doesn't. If you have your iPhone dock connected to audio, it's one volume fits all...and it's loud and quite disruptive when listening to podcasts, music, streaming radio, etc.
There needs to be the ability to selectively mute alerts ("Car stopped on shoulder ahead" is useless to me in almost all situations (but may not be to others)) and/or control the volume of these alerts to a customized level that allows a user to balance their normal listening experience with Waze audio prompts.
There are times when I would prefer to have all audio prompts turned off.
