Alternate Route
Very frustrating when Waze updates the route with a bunch of turns, including a few difficult left turns, and it results in a time savings of a minute or two. Sometimes it doesnt save any time at all. I suggest an option were you can choose a time savings minimum before waze will take you off your current route. For example I would prefer to stay on my current, more direct route, unless a time savings of 5 min is available then please change my route.
Thanks

I had something like this in mind: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=657&t=113062
Boils down to the same thing, waze gets you places, but you may get routed on ways you don't want to be on.

Enable users to choose how aggressive they want waze to be in finding the 'fastest route'. There are times where I will be routed away from main roads, through slow speed zones, neighborhoods, etc., just to save 30 seconds or a minute on overall drive time.
This leads me to doubt waze when it recommends this kind of crazy routing.
My recommendation is that waze implement an aggressiveness option in the "Fastest" vs. "Shortest" navigation option. Something like:
Use the most direct route unless dynamic routing will save me more than XX minutes.
I would select 5 minutes for myself. If waze can save me more than 5 minutes on my drive, I am willing to take the crazy routing.

I have also an idea like that :
indicating with a number on alternating road in front of you, how many time you lose or win if you take it.
Sometimes it is better to stay in a traffic jam for 1 minute more than use an alternative route. -

Sometimes Waze will suggest an alternative route without suggesting how much time it saves compared to the conventional route. I know that if it switches routes in the middle of navigation it will tell you that it saves you 1 min or 2 minutes, etc. But sometimes from the get go waze will suggest that I get off the freeway and use backroads but doesn't tell me how much time that will save me over using the freeway. I would rather stay on the freeway than take my chances with stoplights on backroads if I know it might only save me 2-3 minutes. On the other hand, if taking backroads saves me 10-15 minutes then I would be ok with taking them.

E.g. Once a route is set, do not reroute, due to traffic or any other condition, as long as the original route is navigable, unless it's saving a set number of minutes (say 5mins) or adds only a set number of miles (5 miles) etc.

bonjour,
il pourrait être très utile de pouvoir aller jusqu’à un itinéraire avec plusieurs étapes. Actuellement une seule est proposée. -

I would like to be able to set a minimum time difference before triggering a 'faster route', or a maximum mileage difference. For instance, if a route is 2 minutes faster, I prefer to stay on my current route. If it is 10 minutes faster, maybe I'll change course. I prefer some routes over others, and may have a higher tolerance for some changes over others (based on how much I prefer one route or dislike another). Also, I may know that Waze miscalculates the other routes regularly, so want to set a higher threshold for suggesting the 'faster route' so I only get it when it will make a real difference in my commute.
I also may not be willing to drive 20 miles farther to save the 10 minutes, so being able to set a maximum difference in distance would be nice too.

Setup de minutos = Não mudar de rota se a rota alternativa for economizar abaixo de x minutos (no estilo de navegação "mais rápida")

Waze wants to be smart and easy to use, and claims to automatically learn your favorite alternative routes. But, it is failing to learn my alternate routes, and I'd prefer it not try to be so smart and just let me specify some, even if I need to login to a website from my laptop to do so.

I need more route choices! For example i'm in san juan, i want to see how long it will take me via edsa or via manila. All 3 choices u show are only via manila. U shud make option to add via what area or road so we can add a route we are considering

Currently, Waze give you option to navigate in the fastest way or the shortest. That’s it.
Naturally, this give you sometimes absurd results.
My idea is like the Google “I’m feeling lucky” option. If the user choose this option, it will take under consideration several parameters.
For example, for 2 minutes faster route, it will not direct you into toll road etc. -

Offer a route "drag" option to allow driver to choose a different route that is not suggested in the alternate route options.
Sometimes Waze will send you on a complicated route to save a few minutes, and not show the simple way's time (which may be just a few minutes longer). There's no way to force the system to show additional routes. -

City driving is different from suburban or freeway driving, due to increased traffic, and more importantly, unpredictable pedestrians and bikes, that are not part of Waze's data. Turning left-then right-then left-then right to save 1 minute often actually takes longer; changing lanes within one block can be impossible in heavy traffic, and waiting for pedestrians to cross the street when you want to turn negates any time savings. It may be a big process, but having a different algorithm for city rush hour driving would be beneficial.

Would like to see a tolerance setting added. For example, don't switch me off my usual route unless a new route saves me at least x minutes.

I frequently get routed to a major highway with the resulting route taking longer AND having more miles than my usual route (which typically end up being option #3). I cant figure out how to stop this. It's whacked! Other navi apps have something called an optimal route, I.e. sacrificing a few minutes for a much shorter route is OK. But driving 10 miles more to save less than a minute on a 35 minute drive is NOT OK.

With this option, users will not be asked to drive an extra 3 miles in order to save 1 minute, which is what happens with the "fastest" route style option. X minutes = Y extra miles (extra compared to the shortest route). This saves time, money, and is most energy responsible.
