I’m not sure if you’ve seen this already, but 99 (a major ride-hailing app in Brazil, similar to Uber) provides its drivers with Google Maps showing traffic light countdowns — how long each light stays green and how long it stays red.

Wouldn’t Waze, which is actually the more advanced navigation app, be able to include this feature as well? It really helps drivers reduce stress and uncertainty (speaking for myself here).

Just to clarify: I’m referring to a feature already available in São Paulo, Brazil, and likely in other major Brazilian cities too.

Add a real-time countdown timer for red traffic lights within the Waze app. The countdown will be based on official data from the national traffic light timing authority, providing drivers with accurate, real-time information on when the light will turn green.

Use traffic light data, GPS and/or crowdsourcing to understand and display a countdown until a traffic light turns green. Some red lights last for several minutes and drivers lose focus. When the light turns green they sit. With a timer they will know exactly how long it will take for the light to turn green and can prepare accordingly.

Let's please get more votes on this. I don't want all the junk feature overload on new cars, but this should be in all cars new and old. It's a no brainer

Having a red light countdown timer count not only improve Waze but the people using it will be more alert to having and keeping focus on the road. Also to have better fuel mileage in doing so. I think this idea could boost Waze in a tremendous amount of ways and the people that are using Waze could benefit from this too

This is proven to reduce stress while driving. Having experienced it first hand, I can honestly say that this is a great idea that will make driving safer and less stressful. This would be a fantastic addition!!!
