Hello Waze,
Indicating ‘closed’ off roads is currently quite difficult.
I have had to use the current ‘closed road’ feature several times and inevitably, when you happen upon a closed road in front of you, you do not have time to manipulate Waze, before having to turn around, or pull over to the side facing another direction. It is not then easy to indicate the closed road you’ve just been on (eg, now behind you) to alert other drivers.
I believe it would be much easier if Waze users were able to just ‘click’ a section of Road that was closed in front of, or behind a driver, or to the side of your own position & hit a ‘closed’ symbol to indicate which Roadway is shut.

Insert road closed function and pin where you had to divert

En ocasiones me he encontrado carreteras o calles cortadas por motivos puntuales ( manifestación, cruce de un desfile, etc) y el Waze no tiene ninuna opción para informar de esto.

HAVE A FEATURE TO MARK THE ROAD CLOSED. Its construction season - and we are having to stop using Waze or use a back up since you cannot mark roads closed!

Last Friday Waze recommended roads that were closed (some for over 12 hours) during the San Fernando fires. I chose an alternate suggestion and that took me 4 hours to go 40 miles.

There are many Fire/Police/EMS personnel who use Waze regularly. The app is not set up well for marking emergency scenes. There should be an option or a separate app which would allow emergency personnel to mark a scene area and specify if all roads are closed or if there is limited access. Using the temporary road closure option usually does not mark very well where there is a road closure and what roads are blocked. The temp road closed option can also often clear out on the app before it is actually open to the public. It can be very helpful to the emergency personnel as well as travelers to know what is closed, why, and for how long.

It would be good to report an accident that closed a road, or construction that closed a road. With all the nice features WAZE has it does not seem to deal with the emergency shutdown of a road or exit well.

I was on a section of road this morning and there was an accident ahead that made the road impassable, when I had done a u-turn I tried to report the closure at the next junction but it did not allow me to make the section I was leaving as closed. Only options for the other two directions were allowed.

It would be useful for area managers to be able to shut down larger areas (a few blocks at a time) for emergencies (like a local fire which is closing many blocks) or planned events
