dear Waze, you are endangering people's lives for real. Miller light truck was bottomed out on the hill and people were having to blindly navigate.

Agreed! We must remove Baxter Street from Waze.
• It's drawing traffic up Lake Shore and Lemoyne Street that those streets can't handle.
• There's a preschool on the corner of Lakeshore and Ewing. Cars regularly race up that stretch of Lake Shore
• The intersection at the top of Baxter at Alvarado is blind to cars on both sides of Baxter. Cars regularly take illegal left turns there into oncoming traffic that they cannot see.
• Baxter street sometimes becomes extremely slippery and/or sandy, and cars can lose traction and start slipping downhill, especially if they are forced to stop their upward climb due to heavy traffic.
• Waze regularly directs cars and/or drivers that are not equipped or experienced enough to manage the grade of the hill. For example, drivers don't leave enough space between themselves and the vehicle ahead.
• Lemoyne Street also gets a significant share of Waze traffic headed toward Baxter street. There are big stretches of Lemoyne that are a single lane, but two-way, and there's a blind curve just below Effie Street. Yesterday there was total gridlock on Lemoyne as Waze had sent several cars up the street and there were a couple cars headed down. There's no way for the cars to pass each other or turn around. I had to get out (in the rain) and direct three cars backwards out of the mess to clear it.

I am very worried that a bad traffic accident is going to happen on Baxter and Lake Shore Avenue. Baxter is one of the steepest hills in the country (http://www.dangerousroads.org/north-america/usa/3762-the-10-steepest-streets-in-america.html) yet, WAZE sends commuters through a trecherous street. For years it was a quiet street, yet we still had problems. Now commuters packet it during the work week. I have compiled a folder with photos and videos of constant accidents and traffic violations. People get stuck on the incline constantly, their weels spin, the car behind them gets impatient, passes on the left, when there is no visibility for cars coming on the opposite direction. This is a major accident waiting to happen. Please remove Baxter from any recommendations you give to drivers.

This hill is not for the average commuter. Nearly every Uber/Lyft driver that gets routed to my home is routed via Baxter. They always talk about how they feared for their life going up and down the street. Baxter is not a safe journey for most drivers. Please get rid of this shortcut as it's truly unsafe.
Please remove the route up Lemoyne to Baxter as well.

I live on Lake Shore Ave and it's unbearable to get into my driveway from 5pm - 7pm.

I see wake drivers get stuck, slide down, and crash on this hill almost every day.

I have lived on the hill in question, using Baxter St to get home, for 45 years. Telling people to use this route is dangerous and untenable.

Waze, you guys will have blood on your hands (and most certainly a lawsuit) if you don't address this issue. Baxter street is incredibly dangerous.

As a resident I absolutely agree. There are incidents happening almost every day. Most minor but add the slightest drizzle and darkness during rush hours and it is out of control. Towing companies charge for 'rescue' and not just the usual towing fees. STOP SENDING PEOPLE TO BAXTER STREET!!!

Second this request. This street is not ready for this kind of traffic. Steep and narrow. Extremely dangerous when it rains.

Baxter street is way too narrow and steep to accommodate the extra traffic you have created. STOP SENDING PEOPLE TO BAXTER STREET!!! Today there was a 3 car accident. Fortunately no one died.
