Adding Roadside Animal detection system to Waze as a feature will help reduce animal roadkill problem.
Roadside Animal Detection (RADAR) systems – A computerized signs with flashing light stripped when an animal breaks a light beam . These can reduce collisions with large animals. These alerts and captured images can also be sent to different GPS apps like Waze, so that drivers coming by on that road can be alerted through their GPS apps and slow down when crossing that area.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

I saw a deer on the side of the road and reported "Object on road" because the option to report the deer is gone. Moments later an accident was reported in the same area, I can only guess what happened.

Actually insane this feature was removed. I used this all the time to mark deer on the side of the road. This was one of the features that could actually save a life and you remove it?

I would like to suggest a Live Animal or Wildlife button under Hazard category to notify drivers especially of a night of the potential risk of hitting an animal

We live in Northern NY and guess what? We have deer all over and farms that have animals that get out of the fences. Save a life, report it!

This is really important, because it can really prevent many drivers from crashing into the wild animals near the road!

Can we have a hazard option for live animals? I live in an area where deer frequent the road and that can be very dangerous. Most times you can’t see them until you are on top of them. By adding this hazard drivers could be notified to at least watch for them and slow down.

Why remove an useful alert to warn the community of a probable animal crossing the road

Would be nice to have a animal warning feature since there are a lot of deers on the freeways and roads

I think you should be able to report animals like deer on the map. You should also be able to report roadkill.

Dear Waze Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to suggest a small but potentially impactful addition to your hazard reporting menu: an “Animal” option.
As a frequent driver across both rural and urban roads, I often encounter animals on the carriageway — whether it’s live deer, cows, or unfortunate roadkill. These sightings occur on both lit and unlit roads, and they pose a real safety risk to drivers, especially at speed or in low visibility.
Adding “Animal” as a selectable hazard would allow users to quickly flag these locations, helping others approach with caution. Even a rough location marker would be valuable, particularly if the animal is moving or the hazard is temporary. It’s a simple tweak that could enhance driver awareness and potentially prevent collisions or distressing encounters.
Thanks for all the work you do to keep roads safer and smarter. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this suggestion.

Add animal option so cars know to slow down for oncoming alive deer/ birds etc near or crossing the road, especially for highways and backroads at night!

I'm not sure why this hazard was removed from Waze, but I feel like it was very helpful and can save lives of both humans and animals.

Alert for when animals are seen crossing such as deer, longer persistence than other alerts to help make drivers aware

Similar to the warning when approaching a train crossing, an alert that you are approaching an area (like the new forest nation park) that has free roaming livestock
Possibly with additional information - they have right of way, do not feed/touch or approach them and to slow and give space when driving around them -

Use object on the road, it is already an option

Option to report livestock on the road. Often an issue in rural areas and happens frequently.

I want to suggest a new feature on waze, in the "danger" part, since for now there is only "obstacle on the road", I would like to suggest that "animal on the road" or "dead animal on the road" is added as this would give people the opportunity to get out of the way.
No one wants to run over a dead animal on the street, with their car. -

Non-Canadian here, I would appreciate this if this was added.
