Adding Roadside Animal detection system to Waze as a feature will help reduce animal roadkill problem.
Roadside Animal Detection (RADAR) systems – A computerized signs with flashing light stripped when an animal breaks a light beam . These can reduce collisions with large animals. These alerts and captured images can also be sent to different GPS apps like Waze, so that drivers coming by on that road can be alerted through their GPS apps and slow down when crossing that area.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Just like reporting cops, users can report deer sightings so others can slow down in the area to help avoid accidents with deer. Seems like a high value idea to me.

Hello, under hazards there should be an option to let people know if deer or any animals are running around on or near the road. Not only might it help save an animals life it might also keep people from damaging their car or truck. Currently I just click hazard obstruction on road but if there are 5 deer moving around it’s not nearly as helpful as it would be to post that. Thanks

I would frequently use this feature.
removing something is also dangerous because most users will discover it while driving and cause confusion and distraction

This alert is very useful when driving at night. We see deer frequently and it can cause accidents

Horse sightings
Hi everyone!
I currently live in the British countryside, and tend to find a lot of people speeding around here, not many people expect to find a horse around a bend, which can lead to accidents as many of our roads are large and twisty set at the national speed limit.
To make it as simple as possible, it would be great to have a horse 🐎 sighting button on the report that would work like any report with a description similar to "Horses have been sighted around this area, drive with caution"
What this would do is make drivers slow down significantly knowing horses are nearby, effectively preventing accidents.
Problem is, even those who drive responsibly still have the risk still of setting the horse crazy, they're unpredictable, so this would heavily help improve safety for us country drivers across Great Britain and other places too
Thank you for taking your time to read this, kind regards

The inclusion of a "Hazard: Wildlife" sign is essential for several reasons, primarily centered around safety and consideration for both people and animals.
Safety for Humans: Wildlife can pose significant risks to individuals, especially in areas where human activity intersects with natural habitats. Encounters with large animals, such as deer or bears, can lead to dangerous situations, particularly on roads or hiking trails. A warning sign helps to alert individuals to potential wildlife crossings, reducing the likelihood of accidents.
Preventing Wildlife-Related Incidents: By clearly marking areas where wildlife may be present, we can minimize human-wildlife conflicts. This is crucial in protecting both people and animals; for example, unexpected encounters can lead to animals being injured or killed, often as a result of defensive actions by humans.
Encouraging Responsible Behavior: A "Hazard: Wildlife" sign serves as a reminder for people to be vigilant and respectful of nature. It encourages visitors to take necessary precautions, such as keeping food secured and maintaining a safe distance from animals, fostering a culture of coexistence.
Enhancing Conservation Efforts: Awareness of wildlife hazards can promote a greater understanding of local ecosystems. Educated individuals are more likely to support conservation efforts and appreciate the importance of preserving natural habitats, benefiting both wildlife and community health.
In summary, adding a "Hazard: Wildlife" sign is a proactive measure that enhances safety, encourages responsible behavior, and supports wildlife conservation, ultimately benefiting the entire community.

I travel through an area where wild horses run across roads or simply stand close to shoulder in herds. Almost every other day I post it as a pot hole to alert other Waze users passing. I think the app could use an option; multiple horse icon for herd or 2+, left side and right side

It would be nice if the Waze app would bring back animal “sightings” or hazard notifications since in rural Canada this can be very much so beneficial for moose, deer sightings etc.

The alert for “animals on the side of the road” was extremely helpful for warning other drivers of the danger and also knowing animals could be on a road you are traveling on. It was an alert and recently removed.

Please add a feature to report animals on the road, similar to how we can report hazards or traffic incidents. This would help alert drivers and improve safety for both people and animals.

This roadkill option needs to come back with lane option. Super easy to add since it used to be a part of app before. Add in lane closure as second option and you are done. Quick easy update any dev can do to save vehicle damage and possibly lives.

Please bring back the Wildlife on roadside alert. The feature protects wildlife as well as motorists when the wildlife is close to the road or crossing the road.
