Adding Roadside Animal detection system to Waze as a feature will help reduce animal roadkill problem.
Roadside Animal Detection (RADAR) systems – A computerized signs with flashing light stripped when an animal breaks a light beam . These can reduce collisions with large animals. These alerts and captured images can also be sent to different GPS apps like Waze, so that drivers coming by on that road can be alerted through their GPS apps and slow down when crossing that area.

Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Multi-Directional Alerts
Weather and animals on the shoulder should be Multi-Directional Alerts.
This is true as the weather doesn't care what direction you're coming from.
Also, animals on the shoulder could cross the road and come back on again from the other side.
Please consider this suggestion. -

We live out in the middle of nowhere OH and often see deer and other living wildlife near the road. Would love to see a button in the hazards to report "Wildlife Near Road." Think this would be helpful to many others!!!

Hazard sign “animals crossing road” could be added and it could have some time active, like 30 min active after activation

When adding an animal in the road (Sheep, Horse, Cow etc) add an automatic alert/text to the local farmer based on the coordinates. If is often very difficult to locate who the animal is owned by.
Farmers can pay a subscription to be part of this service. -

Where is needs to add Deer sightings to their contusions to help drivers.
The same way you can report seeing a police, seeing traffic, seeing construction and more, there should be an option to be able to report deer on the side of the road so that drivers can slow down and be extra cautious -

When there is an animal sighting, wazers can claim the animal and the ai can alert coming wazers to form a temporary clot to facilitate the rescue.

Sería bueno la opción que los conductores podamos advertir puntos de paso de animales para evitar atropellarlos y registrar cuando suceden. Así veterinarios cerca o voluntarios pueden atender la fauna o bien advertir para prevenir el atropello.

There used to be options for reporting objects and animals on the road or shoulder under the “Hazard” option. This was very useful to quickly choose. These options are no longer available. It takes too long to report these items using the comment feature.

GREAT IMPROVEMENTS adding the roadkill & live animals on shoulder icons! And having the crash one more accessible is terrific!

Palm Coast has lots of Waze users and lots of wildlife. Especially at night we have deer and wild boar. Not tiny ones either. I think having Icons would be a cool and light hearted way to alert other users. Pretty please??

I’m really upset by the graphic and the term ‘roadkill’ used by Waze. Those are sentient beings, creatures that have just as much right to this planet as us and when we take those lives it is a tragedy. Waze’s current icon and name are offensive and careless. I used to be all about Waze but that might be the straw that finally pushes me back to Apple maps for good.

De même que signaler la présence d’un policier à un endroit, il serait bon de pouvoir indiquer un animal ( orignaux, chevreuil) dans le chemin où en bordures de route pour en aviser les utilisateurs de faire attention.
