Adding Roadside Animal detection system to Waze as a feature will help reduce animal roadkill problem.
Roadside Animal Detection (RADAR) systems – A computerized signs with flashing light stripped when an animal breaks a light beam . These can reduce collisions with large animals. These alerts and captured images can also be sent to different GPS apps like Waze, so that drivers coming by on that road can be alerted through their GPS apps and slow down when crossing that area.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

I believe adding an animal crossing warning would be helpful for those driving in more rural areas. To use as an example, I was driving home from the gym late at night and nearly hit a deer but I couldn't place a warning for it; the closet thing I could've used instead was the roadkill option (which wouldn't be too far from the truth if someone was too unfortunate enough as to hit the deer).

For this, there are road signals. If u want a really interesting function, teach bears to use Waze. Then you'll always know where they are ;)

I live in a wildlife rich area where there are 7,000 wildlife vehicle collisions each year (statewide-Colorado). This seems easy enough to do, as it would be the same thing as "car on shoulder ahead". Please move this to the top of your list.

The new WAZE function will:
Report wild animals run over by cars in open spaces and outside urban areas;
The reports will be used to map the roads that are most dangerous to wild animals and find ways to reduce the number of dead animals.
Note: This function has only been implemented in Israel so far. I would like this idea to be put in Brazil, my country of origin, because currently 475 million animals die on Brazilian roads. -

This would also save the lives of people. I would also like to see the animal alerts under "On Road" as I see critters standing in the road frequently or flock of waterfowl crossing.

Please make an icon for deer on the road, or other animals. This can be an awesome new feature, that only needs a slight modification to your existing tech. This idea can save both animal and human life, by keeping drivers aware of the risks ahead on their route!

A group of fellow students and I are working on a project to reduce roadkill to improve drivers' experiences as well as the safety of animals on the road. We had the idea of integrating an alert system into the Waze app to reduce the number of these collisions. When a living animal is spotted near the street, users will be able to add a pin at their exact location signifying an animal. They can choose the size of the animal from small to large to give drivers specifics of what types of animals to watch out for. To make sure that drivers are not distracted from the road when they get the animal alert, the announcement will be said out loud, rather than popping up on the screen. An example announcement would be, "Watch out! There are medium-sized animals within a mile of your location."

Sugestão de alerta de animais na pista, algo seríssimo caso seja a noite e animais sejam grandes (como uma vaca preta que quase atropelei a noite ha pouco tempo na rodovia)

Please add a function that allows drivers to send wildlife alerts real time-wil save human and animal lives. We have one of the largest herds of elk in the world and a growing community. This would be an excellent addition to the alert choices

I'm from Alabama where it is very common to drive down the interstate and see wildlife such as deer. It would be very helpful for ways to develop an alert for "wildlife".

My idea for this is to have deer/animal crossing warnings (cautions similar to when driving through construction zone) when driving through areas with relatively high reportings of deer crossings and/or more than one has been reported within a certain time frame, ideally user-configurable.
