Settings for types of alerts to allow
There are many types of alerts the Waze client can display as a layer on the map and/or pop up on your screen, sometimes both visual and audible. We would like to see an new Settings area added for the types of alerts we want to see and/or ignore and never have a notification appear or be heard.
The notifications should include at least, but not necessarily limited to:
Speed cams
Red light cams
Police (speed trap)
Road Hazards
Road segment speed condition
Traffic Jams
Chit Chat
Accident
Great news! For each type of report/alert you’re able to specify whether you’d like it do be displayed on the route. Accessed via Settings – Alerts&Reports – Reports. What’s more, you can choose area (e.g. 5 km around you) for which reports will be displayed on the map.

I definitely agree. I don't really need to know there's a car stopped on the side of the road when I'm on a 6 lane highway. It shouldn't be so hard to put more options into waze to let us pick and choose what we want waze to report on.

I agree - it is extremely irritating, especially when it interrupts my music, to hear every red light camera alert. There are many red light cameras where I live and I would prefer the ability to turn off those notifications but keep others.

Please! I really just need alerts for speed cameras, cops, and accidents. I hate having my music get interrupted every five minutes for "WATCH OUT! Car stopped on shoulder ahead!"

Oh yes... I would be very happy if I never see another 'Chit chat' notification in Waze.

I absolutely agree. I get multiple "Hazard ahead: car stopped on shoulder" alerts every day, and only once has it actually been a hazard. I've even gotten a hazard report for a car that was parked on the grass 20 feet off the road.
Whenever I get an alert for a car on the shoulder that is there but actually not a hazard, I mark it as "Not there" so that other Wazers don't have to get a false alert.

I pass three redlight cameras during my commute, each way, every day. I learned my speeding lesson long ago and I stop at red lights. This warning is annoying. We should have a way to ignore warnings for certain things like redlight cameras or cars on shoulder or whatever.

FACT:
Waze wants us to use routes even when we know where we are going so more data can be collected.ISSUE:
It's very annoying to hear guidance when we already know where to turn, so we turn off the volume.PROBLEM:
Now we can't hear prompts for Hazards or Police traps.SOLUTION:
Like the original poster suggested, let us choose what we want/need to hear. -
