Plenty of ways to customize Waze for HOV... as a Maryland resident, I can ride my plug-in hybrid in Maryland HOV lanes but not in Virginia HOV lanes. Similarly a Virginia resident could ride in Virginia HOV abut not Maryland HOV.

I can use Waze on my phone on my motorcycle and be okay in both Maryland and Virginia HOV lanes.

I would very much like to be able to manage how Waze provides direction based on my HOV preference. At the moment I have to guess how quickly the HOV traffic is moving on my ride home and simply ignore whatever Waze is telling me about my route. It defeats the purpose of having real time traffic.

They just added HOV capability but it seems to only be for people with HOV Tags for clean cars. But HOV is also for cars with 2 or 3 passengers. They need to add an option to enter number of passengers so the new HOV functionality can be complete!

It would be nice to have the ability add or subtract a passenger in your car so that the app would only give you the choice of a commuter lane if you are able to use it. Like when you can opt out of taking a highway or not. It is hard to find a good route home when the only options i get are for the commuter lane and i am the only one in the car.

Allowing to opt out of HOV COMPLIANT lane would sure save this customer a few citations

Even from a non-selfish standpoint, when I'm using Waze in the carpool lane and going faster than the rest of the traffic, I don't want Waze to get bad data thinking the regular lanes are going faster than they are.

This option is exactly what we need. I drive a CNG truck in CA. This allows me single in the HOV lane at all times. I also am using the Waze Carpool app, I think it should direct me to HOV when I pick up my rider each day.

Please add a field to identify whether or not the car can take the carpool HOV lane's. It is useless to be routed via HOV when you aren't a carpool

I agree about the carpool lane being taken into consideration

Add option to avoid hov lane because there's hi way entrance hov only in dc area. I got a ticket to enter this hov only entrance to hi-way 66. If Waze has a function to avoid hov , would be perfect

Sheesh...it is super irritating to get sent to a jammed highway and then told to get in HOV lane when I'm single occupancy. Fail!

Waze default HOV routing is a huge drawback n L.A. and recently c
ost me a carpool violation ticket. Granted, I should have known better because I'm a local but I was distracted and followed the app's directions to enter the 110 FWY South via a carpool only ramp. PLEASE GIVE US A NO HOV OPTION! I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO STOP USING WAZE!

As many have mentioned, Waze desperately needs a switch in settings to indicate whether your vehicle is HOV compliant so it can determine whether a certain route is faster if it knows you can use HOV lanes. I would take it one step further and suggest a checkbox on the main map to let Waze know whether you are currently in an HOV lane so when it calculates the speeds of the traffic flow, it understands which cars are in the HOV lane (normally too close to other lanes for GPS to figure out the difference and truly understand which lane you are in).

How do they not have an HOV component yet? It is so frustrating! I never know if I should trust the re-routing advice. Sometimes I do and as I drive away I see the HOV lane zooming past the log jam. Ugh!
