Heads up Display (HUD)
make an heads up display icon so that the user can place it on their dash and the reflection will show up on the windshield.. for night time driving whee it is safer to stare closer to the road versus looking down...other apps use this idea but they dont have the GPS ability..it will set waze apart from all other GPS systems..and make it look extra cool!

I agree, a HUD feature would be great. Maybe voice control to add a report while in HUD mode?

I consider HUD to be a necesarry safety feature. It would relieve the issue of having to drop your vision to see the Waze screen. And we all know an accident can happen in a millisecond if you're not paying attention. Please develop this into the app. It's just part of the app's needed evolution. Thank you.

I'm ready to give up waze for a purchased app, because I can't use it in HUD mode. It's not a caprice, it's a matter of safety to look always ahead. Besides if the phone were placed on the dashboard, it would not tempt the driver to touch it. Design a hud version. We buy it, just launch it.

Sorry to say, my love story with waze is coming to an end. It's become outdated because today HUD is a must. Hate to go to competitors, but hey, either you keep up or you become a dino. You're on your way to becoming one if you don't include HUD.
Please do it and I (and many more) will not need to go through the hassle of migrating.
Thank you! -

When using Android Auto in my car (Kia Stinger) I loose access to navigation details in the cards HUD (Heads Up Display)...
The car's default mapping system shows speed, red-light warnings, directions, distance to next turn..etc.. It would be great if Waze could pass on these details so it can be displayed in the cars built in HUD.

Can you add the feature so that Waze can be used as a head up display. Would love have it projected on the road ahead of me to see what lane to stay in on the highways or where the actual turn on the map is.

Just thought through this: How would someone add a user report if this was in HUD mode. Don't get me wrong, I love the HUD mode but this may hinder one of the core functions within Waze

This is in the pipe since 2012... and seems a very popular and logical evolution...
Thus I suppose Waze has decided not to do it for some reason... too bad, would like to understand why....

Please make HUD mode an integral part of the app - who other to do it properly than you guys? You can even afford to consider a completely optimised color scheme and layout rather than just introduce screen image mirrorring, just because you CAN do it best for Waze and us - the user base. This should boost the appeal of the app to even more users and provide some much-needed versatility. Make it a paid option if you have to, just DO it! :)

Other apps has done it but nothing is compared to waze the only thing lacking is the HUD(Heads up display)option for it to be perfect. The HUD is used by fighter pilots to keep their eyes on target while looking at data they need. Information is displayed on the canopy. How does it work for phones? The image will be flipped then you put your phone on the dashboard thus reflecting the right image on the windshield. Light intensity should be adjustable for safe driving. You get to see the map without you having to have your eyes elsewhere.
