Speeding alert for drivers
Waze should make a sound to alert the driver when they are speeding.
Waze already shows you how fast you are currently driving, and it knows everything about the road you are on, so it should be simple to compare your speed to the listed speed of the road.
Waze has always been about saving time and money for Wazers, and about creating features to attract and keep people on their service. This allows Waze to on-sell quality map data to other businesses, such as Apple. Many other SatNav clients have speeding alerts to save the driver from getting a speeding ticket and to help them to drive in a safe way for the community.
It is great that there are warnings for fixed speed cameras, but there are also mobile unmarked police speed traps around, and more importantly, speed limits have been created to make the area safe for the community. Sometimes it is difficult to notice immediate changes to the speed limit and this is where is where it would be good to get notification from Waze about your speed.
In addition, this would create another way for map editors to earn points, as the jobs that they can currently perform on the areas of the map they have access to become diminised as the road map reaches congruency with the current road network.
Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already displays a speedometer, including both your driving speed and the speed limit for the road you’re currently on.

Seems the current version has this feature. I would like to choose the notification sound already stored on my phone.

It would be great to set up at users interface, how much over the speed limit should be the warning activated. In some countries the police tolerates for example 5 km/h over the speed limit.

Information on speed limits are for some countries available from the road administration and are used by some competing navigators. However this is a devious tool, some drivers will totally rely on the function. I have friends that has this function but they say it fails too often using an incorrect speed limit. I do not believe in the community entering this information, it is just too much. I will however give this function a vote since if it is working well, it is a great tool. I would also then like the opportunity to set an offset to when the warning is given and various types of warnings since I do not want to be disturbed with multiple sound warnings if I deliberately are speeding.

Will you be the one going to the WME to make sure that the speed limit in all segments of the map is appropriate? If so, you'll get my vote... otherwise no thanks... editors already have to deal with too many senseless reports on the map to also have to check every segment if for the appropriate speed limit... My 2 cents...

I would like a second alert which warns me when my speed is over the limit in speed tracking area.
(my 3 last fine was in the situation my speed was 1 km/h over the accepted speed. Frustrating situation)

I would like this as many people use Waze to cut through my neighborhood and many of them are speeding as they go through the neighborhood. Perhaps a reminder would help some of them slow down.

I support this idea. It is very useful. Other navigation system have this facility.

This is something Trapster could do (in fact it still can, though you can no longer download it if you haven't done so in the past), and it was very useful.

Tasker can do that for you. Decide your speed ceiling and use accelerometer or GNSS (gps)
Be sure to complain to dinglisch, the developer, that you would greatly prefer go directly license the app via paypal as yoh have no desire to suffer the malware distribution platform oft labeled play market.
