This area of traffic safety has been a major focus at the state level for may DOTs in the USA recently. This feature would help to reduce the high speed, severe injury or death accidents in the USA and likely worldwide. This could easily be considered even more impactful to road safety than the railroad crossing warnings implemented a few years ago.

When someone see another driver in the wrong direction in a motorway, we can send an warning message to all the drivers in the other direction of the road ( to drivers in the same road as the driver in the wrong direction), to avoid the crash. It could be an alarm message in waze to the drivers at the distance of 2 Km per example.

This would be huge! I think it should be limited to highways but also for someone to report a wrong-way driver. Then anyone approaching the alert (within 2 miles would be notified and can either like or dislike the alert) after a period of time or a certain amount of dislikes it could be removed. The alert would be more of a warning "Wrong-Way Driver Reported Ahead - CALL 911 if seen". Through the API the partner portal could also get an alert and start any process of warning drivers as well.

I think this is a huge feature that could save lives!

This system is already installed on new modern expensive cars
Waze knows which direction the road or street is
Why not just using that information to warn the wazer that they are driving the wrong way?
