Please provide an option to turn off the "car stopped on shoulder" warning.
This is the most common warning yet doing nothing more than distracting. People stop on shoulders for few minutes all the time so why do I need to care unless I am planning to drive on the shoulder?? Turning off road hazards does not help.
Great news! The option to filter the kinds of alert you would like to get is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

These ridiculous alerts are causing me to use waze less and less; and to not recommend it to friends. I don't need to know about a car stopped on side of the road every few miles. So annoying! If there is a tow truck there or the car is in any way dangerous or interfering with traffic then OK, but people are reporting cars that are in no way a danger to anybody. Some people even report cars on the PA turnpike that are parked in the pull over areas; 20 feet away from the road. Waze already has options to keep them off the map but please give an option to silence specific alerts. Also, being alerted to "Fog Ahead" every 5 minutes during an hour and a half trip home through fog could be silenced too.

Please provide a way to turn off THESE STUPID ALERTS!!!
I don't care about rain or fog or potholes or a stupid car on the shoulder of a 4 lane highway that's been there for 2 days!!!
I only care about traffic and police.
MAKE THIS AN OPTION!!!

Having to endure this 20-30 times on each one way commute is maddening. Especially when I have to take my eyes off the road to look at it. Then, it covers up part of the map!
Why is Waze trying to shove this down our throats by not allowing us to turn it off!?
We can turn everything else off. Why not this.
(while you are at it, let us turn off things like pothole, construction and weather alerts as well. I can see the rain, you don't need to tell me I'm driving in it!)
Also, seems an increasing number of people are lying about alerts, just to gain points.

I agree completely! This "warning" is not helpful. When cars are on the shoulder of a freeway it doesn't affect anyone in traffic. The only time it would be useful is on a narrow two lane road if a car was partly in the road on a blind curve. Otherwise it is more of a distraction to have to pick up my phone to see if it is something important like an actual hazard on the road. Then it becomes like the boy who cried wolf, that I ignore the messages thinking it will likely be someone else on the shoulder of the road, 4 lanes away from me, completely unaffecting anything I'm doing!

Agree 100%. Don't know why this hasn't been done yet. Such a simple request. Stick it under Advanced Settings and be done with it.

Okay for all of the semi drivers, and tow truck drivers that are on the side of the road - turn on your emergency blinkers!! Some app constantly telling every one about broken down cars on the side of the road is pointless in most cases and like the boy who cried wolf situation.

"car stopped on shoulder" Why do I care unless I am planning to drive on the shoulder?

There are 2 sides to everything... for the comment below that it safes lives.... it could also take lives by distracting people too much. I've been driving some time with waze and in no way the "car stopped on shoulder" has ever helped me save lives. There are a lot of false positives, so i might not even belief it anymore, and "car stopped on shoulder" is also pretty fluid: a car may be there now, but it may not be there anymore in 10 minutes.
I would have it switched on by default, but if people don't want to hear it they should also be allowed to switch it off (if it's switched off I would also not allow people to report cars on shoulder).
For most people this is a near deal killer.

You guys not wanting to be alerted to vehicles on shoulders of highway are uneducated idiots. This is for your safety and mine. I might be that tow trucker trying to move that vehicle so I can get home to my family. It's called the move over LAW

Well for one it keeps others alive. For 2 it keeps tow truckers alive. Tow truckers are killed every year at a rate higher than police officers.

This is a deal killer. Every two minutes waze spams my audio and I can't hear my podcast. The app is no longer usable since this cannot be disabled. Also who are all you lame idiots reporting all these cars for imaginary internet points?

This is the single biggest annoyance in Waze, even more than the ads. It almost makes the app useless because of the "crying wolf" effect. Every warning should be able to be customized so you aren't alerted. I drive around with ALL alerts off because this one is so annoying and useless. I would also turn off rain reported, because usually the whole city is rainy when that is being reported.

I just showed a friend a work Waze. She used it for a trip with her daughter and was so annoyed by the Watch out vehicle stop on shoulder that she will never use it again. This is killing me. It is a great app, , but this feature has to be limited or go al together.

All alerts/warnings should have the ability to toggle on or off.

I am not interested in cars on shoulders; it's a needless distraction.

That's a good point about traffic cams vs red-light cams. Our city recently voted for the removal of red-light cams. But people may still incorrectly tag them as such. So that should be a separate toggle as well.

dragon_roller commented
they should all be options to toggle. where I live, there's tons of cars on the shoulder. I don't care. However, I do want to know about police, or object in the road.

Please include 'Red Light cameras’ as an optional item in the ‘Show on map’ feature.

Please allow disabling the audio for hazards or customizing what the voice is used for.
