Distance units
The Waze client appears to use three types of unit for distance reporting, miles, decimal fractions of miles and feet.
In the UK we generally use two units for road distance, miles and yards. We do not measure road distance in feet, I measure the size of my bedroom in feet but not the length of my road.
Also "point one miles" doesn't mean a lot to me or many other people I'd imagine, not to mention that it is shockingly poor grammar.
Please can we have a UK units option, that supports miles, half a mile and yards. Thank you.

In UK we use miles and yards not miles and feet could you add another option

Feet are for small distances up to about 50 feet and even that is pushing it, yards are for bigger distances Please implement the divide by 3 option in the settings otherwise it gets booted as far as I can which will be about 365 inches.

I like Waze in general but giving the units of distance on feet is useless so after trying it for one journey I have now stopped using it.

As an International traveller who uses hire cars and Waze, I would like to be able to set Waze up to tell me distances in METRIC and set my speed to be reported in MILES.
This way, I can relate to the dashboard (which is always in MPH or KPH) AND I can confidently judge how far the next turn is...(personally I have no sense of a 1/4 of a mile but I instinctively know how far 400 metres is).
At the moment, I believe can only have either METRIC or IMPERIAL and it is set for both SPEE AND DISTANCE.

I agree with this - feet are useless in UK

I agree, feet is crazy, buy the time you have listened to it, you’ve gone sailing past. Who on earth uses feet for navigation. I’ve stopped using it now.

The distance used in the UK is mainly miles and then yards for when junctions are calculated. When travelling using sat nav devices we do not use feet and the measurement is too small.

Waze is owned by Google isn't it? Google maps navigation uses miles and yards for notifications. I prefer Waze for the less cluttered display and better landscape view. But, I agree with other brits who although in the minority have found the "feet" thing a real pain.

Feet makes NO sense as nobody uses it. Yard is far more commonly used.

My first day on Waze and I'm contemplating leaving already. Thousands of feet cannot be comprehended... Please give us the option of yards (or even miles and metres)

In the UK, we use yards not feet for short road distances - Tom Tom, Garmin and other sat navs all use yards - please change from feet to yards. This will also stop my passengers from laughing when they hear the announcements in feet. Thanks.

Yards is definitely more suitable

This thread has been going on since 2013 so I don't expect anything to change soon. However, if you don't ask you don't get.
I don't think we in the UK have mixed signage of miles and metres. If we're using Imperial units it's miles and yards.
At the moment, I get some directions in decimal miles, 1.1, 1.2, etc. Others though are in fractions of miles for 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4. My preference would be to keep the quarter, half and three quarters and have all the others in yards.
I've seen elsewhere that others mentally convert what is said into their "internal" units. I too do this, i.e. 1000ft being a bit over 300yds but it's amazing how much the small amount of brain power required to do this takes so much concentration on the road.
The solution is, of course, to make everything configurable like major units of kilometres or miles and minor units of metres, yards and feet.
The dificulty, I imagine, is for the existing voice recordings needing to be upgraded considerably.

Actually in the UK we use Miles and metres. All road signs use either miles or metres now, yards are also depreciated.
Decimal miles is fine, but miles and metres please! The easiest way to acheive this is to allow control over all units used.

We need UK settings - no one here uses feet to measure road distances. come on US lets get a world view you never know you may end up using A4 paper one day !!

Waze = brilliant. Inability to choose yards and not feet, completely absurd and renders it useless as being too distracting for UK users

Tried Waze for the first time today, dismayed to be given distances in feet, just not helpful for UK drivers.
