Fix the gas price functionality by adding additional shortcuts to update gas station prices and automatically remove old data
The current method of adding gas prices is apparently too hard for many Wazers to find. Editors are constantly receiving PURs regarding incorrect and out of date gas prices. I have three recommendations for where to add a shortcut:
- Add a button to the page that shows all of the gas stations near your location.
- Add a button on the gas station's info page right below the listed prices.
- If a user is located within the gas station area, give a popup (like when Waze detects a traffic jam).
The gas station price functionality has the potential to be much greater but right now it feels very incomplete. Other navigation apps like Google Maps are working on this feature as well.
Lastly, Waze should automatically remove gas station price data that is older than 2 weeks. I see a station in my area that was last updated in August of 2017 (it's April 12th 2019 as of this writing). There is no reason old gas station needs to be kept as it is messing with up-to-date and accurate data.

Currently, Waze app takes a L O N G time to recognize that I'm at a gas station (and trying to update prices)
While using <SEARCH>, <Where to> and clicking on the “fuel pump”, all had stations near appear and I can select to see the ‘last updated prices’.
My suggestion is to allow us to UPDATE prices from this location in the app, making it so much easier. Getting too tired (and frustrated) off continuously tapping on my location at a gas station to try to get the app to ask “are you at a gas station?” before I can tap to go in, select station, and update price.
My suggestion is far more user friendly. -

Agree strongly with need for improvement of gas pricing and in particular incorrect and out of date gas prices. Looking at a station now (4/20/2020) in WME whose gas prices were last updated 3/13/2019. Could not change the prices. Clicked on the "Report an issue" and got a popup stating "gas prices can't be updated in WME....PLEASE DON'T REPORT INCORRECT GAS PRICES".
In my view every PUR for incorrect gas prices is a user stating that Waze is doing a bad job at this and for everyone that presses the button there are likely 10 users who didn't push the button but still thought it's a bad app for gas prices. There must be a mechanism to delete stale prices and I would lean to 1 week or less as frequently as gas prices change.
Better to have no price then a bad price

Needs updated at least daily. Stale prices are often inaccurate. Try incorporating the gasbuddy price posting system and search features.

love the app - woud be nice if I could simply touch the gas price (in the green box) and edit it. Got gas today at a much lower price than listed on Waze and couldn't change it for others to know.

I try to notice and update gas prices, but the user interface takes a lot of key strokes to change a price, and often the traffic light changes before I can complete the change ... so I just give up.
For example, if a price is 2.409 but WAZE says it's 2.399, I have to click on the 2.399, hit the back key THREE times, then press 409 … another 3 key clicks for a total of 6.
If you could put a PLUS and MINUS sign (or UP / DOWN arrows) over each price so we could increase or decrease the price quickly (by .01 here in US) ... I think that would help speed it up as my example would take ONE press.

If one want to check/update a gas stations prices, they have click 4 times to get that screen. If the has stations were displayed on the map, one could select the actual gas station they want (instead of having to choose by address)
