Waze has a REALLY bad habit of rerouting me to routes with LONGER travel times without asking. It will do it within less than a minute after I selected the shorter route in the app. This is extremely annoying and makes no sense at all. Waze should not be pushing its preferred route on me. It should suggest, but ultimately allow me to choose the route I wish to take.

Tendrian que tener mas informacion de las rutas y sus estados, por ejemplo hoy quise ir a Suipacha provincia de Buenos Aires y en la ruta 4 a pocas cuadras de Fair (que se encuentra cerrada por refacciones), me hacía tomar a la izquierda y en el lugar hay un bulevar, después me informaba que tome Juan XXIII, en el curze de lomas de zamora y me enviaba a tomar el acceso oeste, lo que implica un montón de kilómetros más, en vez de enviarme por una ruta más cerca a mi domicilio y tomar la ruta 6 que desemboca en la 7, mi sugerencia es un estudio de rutas y el estados de los caminos, porque hay muchas personas que viajan y no conocen la zona y terminan perdiéndose o haciendo varios kilómetros de más, también se podría implementar opciones de rutas.

Stop automatically changing routes

As identified by others, the simple addition of a DECLINE button, when Waze suggests a better route would solve this annoying issue.

This is so annoying. To select an alternate route, then 5 minutes later have Waze automatically choose to reroute me to save 10 minutes, and without an option to reject the rerouting action. Ridiculous!

Tonight I was driving home with family during the season’s biggest rain storm. Initially Waze set a good route across major freeways that are relatively safe in the rain. Then it suggested a re-route across a windy mountain road (Angeles Crest Highway) instead of the major freeway in order to save only about 2 minutes. Of course I hit No. It kept suggesting other re-routes as well, including driving across older freeways through downtown LA that are prone to flooding, and I hit No again. Each time it would barely save any time to do such re-route. But it would be much more dangerous. Then when I couldn’t pay attention to the Waze app it re-routed me through older flood-prone freeways anyway! This was incredibly annoying because it made the drive more nerve-wracking as some sections of this freeway had poor drainage. I wish that Waze would have some way to optionally “lock” the route in place so that a preferred route is NOT re-routed even if the driver is not babysitting the app.

Do not alter the preselected route while driving unless the road is closed. As a newcomer in my town, it's frustrating that I can't familiarize myself with the 15-minute route to my university and back home. Almost every day, I receive different directions from Waze, which opts for the fastest way. However, I prefer the "easy way," which takes just 1 minute more, as it involves fewer turns and crossroads. I wish I could have the option to stick to my chosen route without it being changed later on.

Cancel automatic rerouting. Let the user stick to their chosen route UNLESS the user chooses to select the suggested new route.
Automatically rerouting has cost me a fortune in routing me through Emissions zones my chosen route was set to avoid.

An option to disable the auto re-routing after choosing a specific route?
As a motorcycle user it is not possible to press the cancel button on the pop-up screen after finding a faster route.
While driving in a certain route, Waze decides to take me through the fastest route without any confirmation from my side. If I choose a certain route at the beginning of my trip, I don't want it to re-route without my permission.

Sometimes waze finds a slightly faster route, but with higher tolls, and automatically reroutes if i'm not fast enough to cancel it. Please add an option to disable auto-rerouting.

Life would be so much smoother less stressing if thier was a switch ( off) for the person that on a time limit that cant afford to take to roundaboutsthat will get you deactivated....OR you can turn it (on)for the ones that when they get home say " Boy that was a real nice drive Cleatus, & Bud " we should do that some more seen places i never seen before.

i agree rerouting has caused late deliverys due to driving 3/4 of a mile to get back going the same direction that a simple make a u turn(turn around) would have been priceless turns into (you have got to be kidding me) all that driving and i could have just made a simple u turn

I enter my address and choose the highway. Waze then automatically reroutes me thru a neighborhood or very suburban streets. According to the map that would save me 5 minutes on a 60 min trip. However this is usually not the case as red lights/congestion

I strongly agree with this. I often choose a low-toll route (not nearly as long as the no-toll route nor nearly as expensive as the fastest route), and without fail Waze reroutes me and costs me money. I understand this app is based on real-time traffic updates, but if there is an option to choose alternate routes, it shouldn’t automatically switch back to the fastest route without at least asking for permission.

It’s very presumptuous and annoying to look at Waze and suddenly realize it has automatically and unbeknownst to me changed my route to some fakakta route through a very busy and often hazardous area when it’s going to save me all of maybe a couple minutes.
ASK FIRST!

When I choose one of the 3 route options DON’T change it just because I take a different road along the way. As long as I am still able to get to the chosen route don’t change to a new one automatically. People know the advantages of roads local to their starting point. There is no need to override those choices.
