I haven't used waze carpool much but I have got to know that there is a bug in waze which allows users to make as much as 1500-2000 dollars every month by taking advantage of waze promotions. This is a big fraud which a lot of people are doing. Since waze does not check if the rider and driver actually drove to the destination, two people schedule rides for a week at once. They set the ride distance as far as possible. 5 dollars will be deducted from rider accounts but drivers will get 12 dollars because of promotions. That's about 7 dollars per ride. 2 rides per day and 22 days per month. That's 308 dollars per month.

People started taking advantage of this. Some people also buy multiple 50 dollar phones and use google hangouts for getting new numbers and they schedule fake rides.

Some people have earned more than 20000 dollars in a year out of this. This is a big fraud.Most of the rides scheduled by google hangout number are fake. You can verify this if you want.

Make sure people are actually commuting using waze carpool. Please fix the bug and save yourself.
