Remove permanent "where to" and "my Waze" fields when phone is horizontal.
I use Waze with my phone in a horizontal/landscape position. All is good if I set a location target and use Waze to guide me to it. But I sometimes I like to see the traffick volume without setting a destination. In this mode, Waze takes up a third of my map display with the "where to" and "my Waze" fields. I should be able to turn those off or they should auto disappear.

Get rid of the #whereto box in the screen

Completely agree. No need for search bar to be visible all the time. It can be hidden in one of the menus or creat a button to activate. It takes too much space on screen

Most of my driving involves within 20 or 30 miles. I usually know where I'm going and don't need directions I would just like to monitor what's out in front of me like accidents construction police and so forth. On my small mobile app screen real estate is prime and that search box which I can't seem to move out of the way takes up a good portion of the space on my phone. It would be nice if we have the option not to have to select the drive destination just get in and drive I thought it worked that way once I don't know what happened. The search box appeared and now I can't seem to get it off. Thank you

We should also be able to hide the 'My Waze/Carpool' box with a small tab to bring them up when needed. 20% of the screen space is taken up with things I rarely use.

I just don’t understand why the makers of this app can’t see how annoying that ‘go to destination’ is.
The full screen display is needed.

HOW MUCH is "some time"? Is it some a random interval? Probably no!
How about you take "some time" and make it the default. Expose that value to be editable by the user.
Or...
add a MANUAL toggle
where it shows on the map with a tap. Like the other things that are set up that way.

That "where to" box is the WORST gui ever. Please let us remove.

This is beyond annoying. More often than not I simply want to see traffic conditions hazards and speed traps when I'm driving locally. I don't want or need to have to enter a destination every time I use the app. Please give me the option to minimize the search bar and give me my screen real-estate back!!!

Allow option to remove search bar when no destination is set in Android Auto. Despite what admin says, it DOES NOT disappear after 30 seconds.

I have the same issue. it may go away for a moment, but as soon as and ad comes up it reappears and I lose 30% of my screen when in landscape mode.

Search bar takes 1/3 of the screen in landscape mode and wish to have option to hide it.
Have you tried to look for some specific place on the map when you do not know the adders? Have you ever try to use the application in your own city (where you know all the streets) just to get the information about traffic jam and notifications from other wazers? With this unhidable search bar it is pretty impossible. -

. 1/3 of my screen is used up by the searchbar if I have not entered a destination address. Makes the app less useful as the screen is not utilized fully.

I would like to be able to close the search bar in the bottom when only driving. It takes up some space in landscape mode. a checkbox maybe.
Using a 8 " Lenovo I have a good overview. -

Provide the feature for users to manually disable search bar and my waze.
And stop replying it auto-hides, it doesn't.

Both new bars - Search bar and My Waze bar need to be removed. Sometimes both occupy 1/3 of total screen - it is totally useless space, I need to see the map when driving, not those bars! Also they block some buttons. Please return to small floating button like it was before, ASAP!

The search bar blocks the map and my current speed too often. As a feature already programmed as a drawer, it should stay closed until needed. Sometimes less is more. I can swipe up to open it myself when I need to search for a destination.

Allow users to minimize/hide the Search BOX, it takes up too much realestate on a phone screen, makes using waze useless.

If I’m not ‘navigating’ anywhere, but instead, just using Waze to keep abreast of traffic conditions etc. then the ‘search bar’ serves no purpose. Especially since once I’m driving, it’s illegal to touch the screen. It takes up far too much room in landscape-mode.
Plus the ‘recent locations’ covers almost my whole screen. I shouldn’t have to manually minimise this. It should disappear as soon as I move onto the road. Much of the time I use Waze as a traffic alert system, and only use the navigation when I’m going (1) somewhere far away or (2) somewhere I need to navigate to.
