I have been using Waze for a longer trip and shared that with my beloved such that they can the progress. Obviously I had to take breaks (biologically inspired or just to get gas).
My mobile is connected to Android Auto.
Everytime I took a break then Waze has "concluded" that my drive had ended. The shared link would say i reached my goal or stopped sharing.
Even if I simply resume the navigation the older link would claim that.
Hence, i need to share my drive after every stop.
Note that i don't explicitly close the app like describe in https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59223-waze-suggestion-box/suggestions/4581199-continue-drive-sharing-when-resuming-navigation

Can we add an option for the "Shared" Drive area menu? I need to re-open a shared drive. that was being shared with me. I closed the app my mistake and now I can't see the shared drive anymore. I want to call the person that was sharing the drive with me BUT that person is driving, not safe to ask the driver to share the drive at that moment.

I recently went on a 4 hour journey and everytime I stopped off at motorway services it ended the journey for my family who were viewing my progress. Each time I restarted travelling I had to resend the new link to them all.

I shared my drive to my friend but my spot lost when I arrived or nearly arrived. Sometimes, I only mapped to and shared my favourite recognized spot which is nearby my destination. Can my shared location be retained at least 30 mins or an hour or even I stopped sharing as per my own accord after my arrival ?

When you share a drive, close the app (which I usually do during long trips to save battery life), and re-open the app, you are prompted to continue your last navigation; but you are not able to continue drive sharing. Combining this resume functionality to include the drive sharing would be convenient and may take care of most complaints about not being able to continue a shared drive.
