Waze map on cluster screen (behind steering wheel) on Android Automotive cars
Electric vehicles powered by Android Automotive from brands like Renault, Volvo or Polestar have the Waze app ready.
However, the application only works in the main infotainment screen and does not replicate the maps in the cluster screen like Google Maps does.
This is a big miss in order to use Waze instead of Google Maps, since it is very practical to see the map behind the steering wheel.
We hope in a near future you can have access to cluster screen and replicate the Waze maps there.

It's been forever since Waze was added to Android automotive. Why isn't the cluster view available yet. I was ok being patient, but this delay (over a year) is pretty crazy.

Got a Volvo V60 2024, hoping it would have been solved with the latest update, but alas...This is a critical feature! As Waze is owned by Google I cannot understand why Google Maps works and Waze does not...

Add this function.(2024 polestar lrdm) Sucks having to open and navigate in waze tgen opening, navigating in Google, tgen cancelling nav in Google Maps and reopening waze to have waze on infotainment and maps on drivers display.

I specifically came to this website, searched for this issue, and created an account to express how important this is to me.
I have a new BMW. I'm not sure if it has Android Automotive, but it does support Android Auto apps appearing behind the steering wheel. I'm guessing it's the same implementation as this feature request.
It's the only thing preventing me from using Waze. I really want to use it, but it would be silly to when Google Maps shows me turn by turn navigation on that screen and Waze doesn't.

Switched from 2021 XC40 to 2024 and having totally black driver's screen while using Waze feels like driving €10 000 car. Been using waze for years but switching to google maps now. It sucks, because no speed info / limit, police cars / accidents warnings... Please put your map on driver's screen!

Makes sense to have it where the driver can see it instead of a blank box taking up the screen (On a Polestar anyway)!

Please add this feature! On google maps we can see the map but on Waze we can only see directions. Please add the map feature on cluster screen as google maps has it. Thank you :D

I just found out about Waze. New owner of XC40. Finding it does not reflect the driver screen, I deleted it. I know Google baught Waze so it should be possible to have the same functionality. Unless Google baught Waze just to put users off Waze and kill it completely.

Prefer to use Waze, but without this functionality I will only use the built in Google Maps in my new Volvo xc40 recharge. Such a pitty… you lost a Waze heavy user here that always supported the community.
