This is the only thing that keeps me from continuing to use Waze after I switched to my new car with HUD. Please consider adding this feature.

Agree with others for instructional text in the HUD (windshield) with CarPlay. This feature is an advantage when using Apple Maps.

Please also put instructional text in the instrument cluster (behind steering wheel).

As a previous poster already mentioned, a very small development team called Clutch Engineering has basic navigation function in an app called Sidecar: https://sidecar.clutch.engineering/

They have successfully implemented HUD functionality recently, along with other widgets in the instrument cluster, demonstrating that others aside from Apple can absolutely do this.

The lack of HUD support is why I still use Apple Maps.

Even a single developer navigation app called Sidecar has HUD support.

I want it too, please.

Without it, I'm forced to use an other application than Waze.

The complete lane details don’t appear on the HUD. It only comes on the main screen.
Basically, please make the entire turn by turn navigation detail which appears in the main screen on the HUD as well, including the lane details

I understand this feature currently works with Apple Maps in other regions, but since Apple Maps does not operate here, Waze is the primary navigation solution for many drivers in Panama and similar markets.

This request may seem like it comes from a single user, but it represents an official market need since Mazda and other manufacturers, provide HUD hardware without a compatible navigation solution in our region. I am a dedicated user of Waze and a strong supporter of its real-time navigation features. I recently discovered that the HUD (Head-Up Display) in my car works perfectly with Waze via Android Auto, but not with Apple CarPlay.

As a Honda Accord owner and an iPhone user, this limitation significantly impacts my driving experience and safety. While Apple Maps supports HUD on CarPlay, I prefer Waze for its superior traffic and hazard reporting.

I understand that Apple provides a public API (mapTemplateShouldProvideNavigationMetadata) to enable this integration, and many users—including myself—are hoping Waze will adopt it soon.

I just bought a new 2025 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid yesterday and was very disappointed that Waze didn't work with the Heads Up Display (HUD). I use was almost exclusively to get around and now I am going to have to switch to Google Maps or Apple Maps to get around. Please consider addressing this soon!

Integrate the turn by turn display like Google Maps and Apple Maps into the Toyota/Lexus heads up display / driver information display (speedometer/odometer display). Google Maps & Apple Maps have had this option for years./. Thanks

Please work on implementing this, safety feature and extremely useful, want to keep using Waze rather than Apple Maps

I would really love to have Waze show directions on the dashboard of my car, similarly to how Apple Maps and other apps like Sidecar do it in CarPlay.

Waze already does that on Android Auto, but for some reason not on CarPlay.

You also now support providing Waze to the dashboard as a navigation map, but again, you don’t support the simpler version of just providing an arrow for the direction and a description of the next step of the route.

The majority of cars running CarPlay don’t support navigation maps in the dashboard but a lot of them support Route Guidance (like Ford SYNC 4). Please add this to iOS too, so that I don’t have to look at the infotainment screen every time.

Apple maps gives turn by turn info to my digital intruments cluster, but I want to stay with Waze!!

The Technical Framework Exists

We understand that enabling this feature is entirely possible within Apple's provided framework. The process is initiated by implementing the mapTemplateShouldProvideNavigationMetadata(_:) delegate method. By returning true from this function, Waze can signal to CarPlay that it is ready to supply the necessary navigation metadata for the car's native screens.

This would be a great add-on for Apple CarPlay users. I also use Waze exclusively and would love it to be integrated on my HUD.

If it is possible to do with Android Auto, why not integrate it for Apple users? It makes the driving experience safer as well. Apple and Waze please work together to make this happen.
