Don't want to have to allow access to my contacts to share a drive

In the new version, I can't enter an address or number anymore...and I'd really prefer not to sign over my entire contact list to waze. Can you reinstitute the message/email options in "share my drive"?

    Access to contacts? No way ever. Bad business decision. I deleted the ap.

    Why lock users into sharing private information. What benefit does Waze get from having this data? Even if their intentions are honorable, making it mandatory makes no sense. What a shame, huge fan of the app, but won't be using it any longer.

    I deleted this from my phone when I found I the new version will not let me do anything without accessing my contacts. This app is just way too intrusive at this point.

    I was a realtively early adopter of Waze but experienced problems. So I unstalled and tried to re-install. Now Waze is demanding access to my private contacts. When I conveniently agreed, I found that Waze has duplicated many of contacts 6 times! So I uninstalled again and now I won't allow access to my personal data even if Waze solves their duplication mess. This is very bad.
    Google do good? hah!

    I'll drop Waze rather than it having access to my contacts in new version....why is this necessary? I'd like the previous version back!

    A privacy/hacking accident waiting to happen.....You've already verified my account via same phone, email and device; completely unnecessary. Good bye, Waze.

    I was researching this app but when I went to install it i was asked permissions to access pretty much EVERYTHING.

    Forget that --- it's just a traffic app. Their site does not explain why it would need access to:

    SMS?
    Contacts?
    Microphone?
    Camera?

    Not even worth trying at that point.
