hate to say it, I'm with the rest of the folks - I don't want to share my contacts. I don't want to share that kind of information, plus i don't need the additional worry that they will be sent unsolicited advertisements or things like that. Please drop the requirement and I'll come back to Waze.

I agree with many here - I will not share my contacts with waze. I loved the previous version of waze, but when I got a new phone, waze asked for my contact info. Unless they drop the contact requirement, I will have to drop waze...a bummer since I really liked it.

Loved the app. Uninstall the the latest version when I found it had attached itsself to all my contacts, although the damage was already done. It purpose is traffic congestion. If somebody want to know where I am they can call me.

Was looking forward to installing waze but not if sharing contact is required - get back to you when you change this invasive requirement. Bye bye!!

Why do you guys that write WAZE make it require access to so much personal info? Contacts? My Mic? Camera? Are you kiddin me!? Why do you need access to my personal calendar? My call information? You guys suck scrotums.

Even if I disable the contacts access in the integrity setting, waze still backdoor opens my contacts and suggest new added contacts as "friends"

I was just about to sign up as a friend used it when we went down to New York City. But it asks for access to so many things.....too much. At least I'm a bit older and can you a combination of google maps and an old school paper map. I appreciate the work arounds but I don't have a lot of time to be messing around with all that.

Device ID & Call information!! Why the hell you need this information really!!! I was planning to download it to my new phone. But no!! It's sick. Why would you need to know if I am in a call and the phone number I am talking to??? Go to hell Waze! U have no use

I thought people were being paranoid when they said Google was gonna ruin Waze. Now I know they were right. The contact list requirement was outrageous, now they want to track my location even when the app is turned "off." WTF? Go to hell, Google. Waze was the most buggy app out of about 80 that I use, so deleting it today wasn't much of a loss. I have already almost entirely stopped using it because the "send ETA" function is a privacy nightmare and the constant crashing and sound stopping by itself (on both my 4S and my 6).

Ditto here. I am outraged. Switched to a new android phone and noticed Waze added a bunch of "link" entries for all my contacts. The cherry is that the links are un-deletable.
They did it in an underhanded way too. I do not recall the install asking me whether I wanted to do this or not. I love the app but this is intolerable, and I refuse to bend over.

Do they need a copy of my colonoscopy video, too.
