Please enable voice alerts for cameras at all times, as drivers are focused on the road and may not see the on-screen warning.

Unfortunately the Waze support team insist I post a suggestion despite it being posted numerous times already and it being ignored completely..

We NEED audible speed camera alters regardless of speed. I find myself staring at the screen far too often to see when there's a speed camera approaching on the motorway and find this unsafe. I would feel a sense of calm having an audible alert EVEN IF I am going below the speed limit.

How would the app react currently if I'm doing 70mph, near a speed camera and then accidentally just go over by 2-3mph just as the camera is approaching? The app would have displayed an alert on screen but would not have triggered the audible speed camera alert in time since I'd be going over the limit.. I'd be left with a speeding fine.

This could be avoided completely by giving US, the users and community the choice to have the speed camera alerts on regardless of speed or only when above the speed limit.

Also, what the car detects as 70mph, the app sees as 67-68mph and is not in sync. This creates a huge problem in itself.

Why leave a margin for error?
Why create an environment where users are spending more time staring at a screen looking for a speed camera on a motorway, taking their eyes off the road??
Why restrict what drivers can and cannot hear?

Why can we not decide for ourselves what alerts we want to hear and when?

Why does it have to take multiple suggestion posts and multiple votes for something soo incredibly critical to be recognised and implemented.

I've submitted this at the request of the Waze support team who were not interested to help despite being informed of several pre-existing suggestion posts.

I would request for every member of the community to upvote this suggestion so some action can finally be taken.

We must have audible speed camera alerts regardless of speed. Give us a toggle to active this if you must.

With the UK smart motor ways, the speed camera alerts dont work half the time.

Please audio alert before speed cameras even when not speeding!

When in a range of a speed camera (500m prior to the camera) you have the notification, and then just the image, if during that range you exeed the speed limit a bip bip bip like those radar detectors do would be really nice, because for example you got the notification 500m before, then you hit a long red light, or jam, and you forget about the speed trap, and then you exeed the speed and you get a ticket

It's surely encouraging speeding to suppress the audio alert under the speed limit. For one, if as a driver, you wish to check the audio alert is working (which is a sensible thing to do, so you know it's there in an emergency), then the only way to do it is by breaking the law and purposefully exceed the speed limit whilst approaching a speed camera, which typically will be placed at an accident hot spot. Secondly, all drivers that want audio alerts simply ensure they are always slightly exceeding the speed limit in order to get the audio signal, so not having this feature is really encouraging dangerous driving practices.

It's very important to have audible speed camera warning irrespective of the driving speed. Let there be a separate option to turn it off for users who don't want it.

Tem que ter alertas sonoros para radares de velocidade sempre, e não só quando acima da velocidade, pois é comum que você esteja acelerando em ultrapassagens em pistas duplas, triplas, etc, e ter um radar ali, e você passar acima da velocidade e o alerta não vem, ou vem com atraso para dar tempo de frear. Além disso não dá pra ficar olhando a tela toda hora (isso é imprudência) e os velocímetros dos carros sempre superestimam a velocidade real, então são outros motivos para se ter alerta sonoro sempre, pois você fica com uma margem muito estreita de avaliação e decisão.

Crie um alerta sonoro que diga em voz alta um radar se aproximando. Hoje só tem esse alerta quando está acima da velocidade. Mas abaixo da velocidade também seria interessante ter

o aplicativo é bom; mas poderia melhorar mais um pouco, como por exemplo; ter a opção para caminhão, aprimorar o alerta de radares através de um aviso sonoro de fala, muitas das vezes esse aviso de alerta de radares não são falados e quando percebemos já estamos próximos do radar! então precisa melhorar mais um pouco o sistema de voz 🗣️.

There’s strong agreement across the Victorian Waze community that we need audible alerts for every speed camera, regardless of current speed.

At the moment, Waze only plays a sound if you’re already speeding. Otherwise, it’s a silent visual popup — and this creates real safety issues:

Motorcycle riders cannot safely look at their phones, and a silent popup is easily missed with wind, traffic, and other sensory load.

Car drivers can miss the popup too, especially in busy driving environments.

If a driver unintentionally speeds up within 500 m of a camera, Waze gives no warning at all, because the alert has already triggered silently.

Users who don’t want audio can simply turn audio off, but users who do want full audio alerts currently have no way to enable them — the app does not allow choosing “audio for all cameras.”

This request has been raised in the past, but we still don’t have a clear answer. If full audio alerts truly cannot be enabled, can we please be told why the “speed threshold” for triggering audio cannot simply be set to 0? That would give all users the same consistent audible warning, while still allowing anyone who prefers silence to turn audio off entirely.

Ya se ha sugerido en varias ocasiones. Waze debería avisar con voz de los radares aunque no se rebase la velocidad. En muchas ocasiones, cuando llegas al radar en cuestión ya vas por encima de la velocidad límite.
Cuando vas conduciendo es peligroso dirigir la mirada a la pantalla. Los avisos con voz de los radares en todas las ocasiones evita riesgos en la conducción.
La app ganaría muchos enteros con esta modificación.

Please add a setting so that you can choose to always get an audio alert for speed cameras, in the UK Waze is often not aware of the speed limit due to the variable speed zon w so this is critical. Many thanks

I think the speed limit icon should be larger and it can be moved around freely. And it could be good that voice announcer should tell that.

I’ve been using Waze for 7 years and it’s been great, however I’ve moved to an area filled with “smart motorways” which mean the speed limit changes.

This means that if I come up to a speed camera and the motorway is set to 40mph I will not get alerted because Waze still thinks it’s 70mph. Please give us a way to make speed cameras alert every time instead of only when speeding as this could cause many issues for people and cause unnecessary tickets on smart motorways.

I only drive with “alert only” so if you can make sure this is included for that, that would solve a lot of nightmares

I also suggest that it could always warn and notify us of the speed by voice.
