There’s strong agreement across the Victorian Waze community that we need audible alerts for every speed camera, regardless of current speed.

At the moment, Waze only plays a sound if you’re already speeding. Otherwise, it’s a silent visual popup — and this creates real safety issues:

Motorcycle riders cannot safely look at their phones, and a silent popup is easily missed with wind, traffic, and other sensory load.

Car drivers can miss the popup too, especially in busy driving environments.

If a driver unintentionally speeds up within 500 m of a camera, Waze gives no warning at all, because the alert has already triggered silently.

Users who don’t want audio can simply turn audio off, but users who do want full audio alerts currently have no way to enable them — the app does not allow choosing “audio for all cameras.”

This request has been raised in the past, but we still don’t have a clear answer. If full audio alerts truly cannot be enabled, can we please be told why the “speed threshold” for triggering audio cannot simply be set to 0? That would give all users the same consistent audible warning, while still allowing anyone who prefers silence to turn audio off entirely.

Please add a setting so that you can choose to always get an audio alert for speed cameras, in the UK Waze is often not aware of the speed limit due to the variable speed zon w so this is critical. Many thanks

I think the speed limit icon should be larger and it can be moved around freely. And it could be good that voice announcer should tell that.

I’ve been using Waze for 7 years and it’s been great, however I’ve moved to an area filled with “smart motorways” which mean the speed limit changes.

This means that if I come up to a speed camera and the motorway is set to 40mph I will not get alerted because Waze still thinks it’s 70mph. Please give us a way to make speed cameras alert every time instead of only when speeding as this could cause many issues for people and cause unnecessary tickets on smart motorways.

I only drive with “alert only” so if you can make sure this is included for that, that would solve a lot of nightmares

you need to make it so it will alert me about speed cameras even if I'm below the limit, in the same way it does if I'm above the limit. it's very annoying because I might speed up in between not getting an alert, and the camera.

Hi It is highly recommended to provide voice notifications of the applicable speed limits along with alerts for upcoming radars. This will enable drivers to maintain proper speed control, helping them avoid exceeding the limit and incurring fines.

Very important and needed for future planning, e.g to overtake without glancing at screen

Always warn with a chime (ding) when approaching a speed cam & show legal speed with a very large speed sign in the center of the dashboard screen.

Make the option to have speed camera alerts always, no matter if the speed is over or under the limit. This would be usefull as when construction site and lowered limits Waze would not alert for speed cameras.

I used to get a vocal warning when entering a section control zone: "You are now driving in a section controlled zone'. Now it's a simple ping. It's much easier to miss the ping warning as our lives are full of ping sounds nowadays. I would love to get the vocal warning back.

Please add this as an option Waze! I almost got a caught the other day because I didn't know a speed camera was ahead and I overtook a car and briefly went over the speed limit to do so. Had I known that a speed camera was ahead, I would have waited.

Alert any speeding camera or radar cameras ahead by speaking

Please update the app to provide visual and audible warnings when approaching ALL speed cameras, whether you are speeding or not speeding. Also, the alerts should be provided, regardless of which side of the street that the camera is located.
