I'm certain Waze is quite aware of the need for this feature. They experience this themselves as well on a daily basis. I just think you're underestimating how big the impact of this change actually is within Waze. It's not just as simple as adding a property somewhere, but it requires making changes in basically all map-related functions of Waze. Especially adjusting the map tiles is a major undertaking and would require all clients to be able to handle (or at least ignore) this new data.
That said, I do fully agree that this is an important feature for many countries and it should be given a proper priority instead of being considered too big a risk to add.

An alternative would be to indicate the average speed zone similarly to a traffic jam on the map, but with another colour.

@TheMet4lGod: it's not that difficult, actually. The idea is to have the closure active the very moment the tile build has taken place. There are situations where you want a new segment to have a closure active right from the start and there's no technical reason why this wouldn't be possible. As a matter of fact: this can already be done right now, but the end time of the closure may not be more than 48 hours in the future. This suggestion would mostly just get rid of that limitation, but that would probably require some sort of "orphaned closures removal" task to run periodically in the back-end.

I'm a big fan of this solution. There are some challenges to the practical execution of this, but I don't see anything insurmountable. It's a shame this is currently not planned, but hopefully the communication rework will help things out.
But before doing all that, I think it would be best to _at the very least_ set up an auto-reply for no-reply@waze.com (I know, ironic) saying that the mail could not be delivered and that the instructions in the original mail should be followed. Many mail clients will just show "Waze Map Editor" instead of the no-reply address. This is something that can be done in a matter of minutes. I'll create a separate suggestion for this to make sure this doesn't get hidden.

This feature would save us a ton of time as we'd only need to do a third of the tasks we now have to do for URs. It would allow us to focus on the URs where we actually get a response instead of having to maintain the ones that go unanswered. The time can probably best be made configurable by country as in Belgium we generally follow the "3 days until reminder, 3 more days until closure" rule and that is going to be different for each country.

Thank you for your suggestion!
The Report button was designed to be noticed while blending in and it’s important to keep it as is.
However, we will revisit this idea when working on Dark mode, in the future. Furthermore, since this is a physical issue that OLED phones suffer from in different apps, we recommend to use Battery Saver mode to allow your display some rest from bright colors that might lead to this dysfunction.

This should be a relatively simple fix to add. While it's not possible to detect which type of screen is being used in Android (or at least there's not a simple API available for it), it wouldn't hurt to provide this as an option. It might even look good. Considering the increase in oled screens, this would give Waze an edge over other applications.

4 separate people seem to have thought of this and took the time to suggest it. This would really fill a need that many editors have + it would make the app even more social. Though of course, safety standards should be held high if this gets implemented. It can't be too distracting.

Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

I seem to remember it was very briefly added in a beta version, but was removed again afterwards for some reason. Some countries have now decided that people should always get an alert for a speed camera (usually countries with not too many such cameras), while others have kept the alert configuration the same for their country (only add an audio alert when speeding).
This evidently should just be a user setting, and I also don't consider this idea as "now available".
