Mute re-routing sound
The constant re-routing sound waze makes when I choose not to take the exact route she wants me to, or because I kiss a turn is loud in my Bluetooth and even though I have the sound turned down its still annoying. I know she is going to re-route me so I don't need that loud Beep she makes. No other GPS device does this. If we could please have an option to mute this, then that would be amazing. Thanks.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

It's been 10 years, fix this already!

Agreed. Waze should give an option to mute it or let us choose a less disctracting sound

I can't believe there aren't more votes for this. I've heard of people overwriting the sounds for it with zero length files. I'm thinking about it

When ever I open waze at the office to check my commute time it always shouts "Ready to go" and I need to mute my phone in order to avoid that.
Please add the "speaker" selection button to the main screen so I will be able to mute just waze and not the phone - before doing anything else.10x

My goal is making the road more safe.
What if Waze could block incoming texts - whatsapp and other communications - by muting them automatically - people will be less distracted by their phones while driving.
Even block calls - if handsfree is not an option in the car - maybe by asking a question when setting up your waze - Do you have handsfree.
Texting is so dangerous while driving - so if they don't get a notification of messages, they will less likely try to answer.
Thanks for considering this option -

The reroute notification sound ("chirp") is very shrill and ear-piercing. Please either make this changeable or change it to a less painful sound.

Currently if you are in the process of following a route (in navigation mode) and you want to change the audio, you have to click 4 buttons to complete the process, which also takes you out of navigation.

Wazw is tremendous. I would prefer it tells us we are being rerouted. I have ignored the reroutes more than once because I did not know it was rerouting me. Yesterday it led me through a very complex reroute and it was extremely efficient.

Just had this problem today! Would be awesome if it told the reason of weird reroutes.

I think that sound it's hurting my eardrum. I have to remove my blue tooth before the sound but many time I cannot because I am paying attention to the road and I am afraid it is going to cause me hearing lose!

As a dedicated user I use Waze every morning and every evening, and I find the turn by turn directions distracting for my normal route. I want Waze to guide me when I on my daily commute when an alternate route is needed, not my default route.
Feature suggestion:
1) Allow Waze to determine or Allow the user to designate a routing as "normal"/"typical"/or other adjective
2) When routing Home from Work (or back) then if the "normal" route is selected present a voice prompt that "OK Take your normal route"
3) Present the auto selection dialogue (like the "Go to Work" or "Go to Home") that allows the user to get step by step directions but defaults to MUTE turn by turn directions.
4) If the route changes to not be the default then unmute turn by turn directions.I always like knowing the time to arrive (thereby like the routing) but the turn by turn voice overrides my music which I don't like.
and when this route to work or route home is picked during navigation t

Add me to the list of people who don't appreciate the re-calculating sound. When I'm connected through the car's Bluetooth radio and have the music turned up, the occurrence of the re-calculating sound is absolutely painful! Even at low volumes, the sound is not appealing at all.

I don't even necessarily want to mute it, but there needs to be an option to turn the volume of the recalculating beep down. It's far louder than the warnings and other audio from the phone like podcasts and is literally painful.

Amen brother, I posted a similar note... There should be something on the screen telling us, it is rerouting because of traffic. I too get enough weird direction that I know are not the fastest and best, that I simply ignore. Did that once and ended up in a huge traffic jam..had i know it was rerouting me, I would have paid more attention to the directions. Our ideas appear to be the same...hopefully waze will get on the ball and do it.

A Company Global Ban on use of phones for calls while driving would be helped if WAZE had a user definable setting setting that while Navigating and in Motion all calls were Muted & Rejected with a Text to say for example ""sorry driving, yadda, yadda, yadda".
As far as I see no other app is providing this and the company banning of phones in company time is increasing with business (possibly due to litigations and culpability).

Waze: Please please let me mute that insipid re-calculating route noise. It's a horrible addition, annoying and not helpful to anyone at all. We expect the app to change routes just like every other nav system known to man. Why do you think this warrants a special sound?
We don't need audible confirmation of an assumed expectation. Please turn it off or give me a switch to turn it off. PLEEEEZE! -

Please program the possibility of deactivating the "Zwitschertones" when route changes. This newly programmed sound is annoying.

Hi
today it takes two clicks to get to the mute/unmute option.
As this is a feature commonly used (by me at least), I would prefer that it would be on a button in the main screen so that it is easily accessible.
