Using the smartphone's front camera for alert about driver's tiredness
In Android there is a feature named "smart stay" which allows the smartphone to recognize, using the front camera, if the user is watching the screen (in order to turn off the screen when not in use) - see

I wonder whether it would be possible to create a similar function in Waze, that would recognize (by visually recognizing when the eyes close for longer than a fraction of second) and alert if the driver falls asleep. If this is possible (even partially), it can save lives.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

I doubt this technology is reliable enough to be used in this manner. There would be far too many false positives. Also, the distance between camera and face is much further using Waze than when using a phone normally. This would make detection more difficult.

I want to post here same idea. This would be interesting for long motorway journeys.

That's not what Waze is for. Make your own app if you want that.

Your smartphone is usually not right in front of you while driving (I hope). This would make supporting something like this a bit moot. It's not like you're constantly watching the GSM display, It would give a lot of false positives.
