I am using iOs 9.3 Beta and the new update of Waze keeps Location services always on, I am not happy as my battery is being drained! Can this be looked at ASAP?

Yep. This needs to change. Uninstalling now and try again in a month or so. Unacceptable in my opinion.

I don't know if there was just an update, but all of a sudden the little arrow is on well after the 24 hours of using the app and my battery is drained! I thought this was fixed....I stopped using waze for a while b/c of this and looks like I need to go back to not using until this is fixed. There is NO reason for the location services options to only be never or always..

This also makes me want to de-install the app.
Getting a notification that the app used my location is definately NOT what i want an app to do.

Please change is so that the location is only sent when used (just like Google Maps).

Please put while using instead always!!!!

I agree - app should give option to only use location services when in use. I will stop using waze until that happens...

Waze->Settings->General->Location Reporting: turn off

I think that Waze always only had the On & Off options for Location Services. What seems to have changed now in the iOS version is that Was is actively using the Location Services in the background, even while you are not using Waze. This is likely an advertising initiative. This background activity is what appears to be causing the huge battery drain. I do agree, though, that Waze should have a "while using" option, or shouldn't be actively using LS while not running.

THIS. Oh my goodness. I took my sweet time updating Waze and my iOS and now that I have, I sorta wish I could go back! My first day getting to work using the new updates and in a few hours, my battery life was down to 20-something percent! Not cool at all folks. Please give us back the option to use the location services only when the app is in use. (Note: Living in Canada, so turning off "location services" within the Waze app isn't an option for us, as it seems to be in the USA.)

I dont know why Waze only shows two options in the gps menu: Never or Always. Other apps include the "when use" mode to avoid battery consumption. Please,if you dont include this option i will stop using this app because i dont like to have mi gps always active. Thanks.

I wish I could add 100 votes to this. All other apps give you the option to turn on location services "while using". Why does Waze want to know where I am even when I'm not using it? I would think this is going to use up my battery life.
