I too was worried about data usage and battery drain but there is a simple solution that I use every time...I just click and put it to sleep when not using, problem solved until they can develop the option to switch off when not using.

I'm very close to deleting this app because it's causing me to go over my data. It hasn't always been this way - why the change???

I'm uninstalling this app because this isn't implemented. There's no need for location to be always on.

Battery drain - please add the only when using feature. I turn on location services while traveling and then switch it off. You aren't gaining anything by forcing us to select always or never. I'm sure some people just choose to use one of the other applications available. Upsetting users and making it inconvenient won't help spread the use of your App.

I'm less concerned about the privacy issue since many apps track you while using - it's the battery drain!!!!

I agree with that ! One fact is the privacy but the way why I want this change fast is to save my battery !

I used to use this app all the time, now I wont touch it until this option is returned.

I use waze since 2014, but I will not do it until they fix it. My battery is during 40% more with waze uninstalled

They need to change this! We should have the option to have Waze access our location only when we are using the app, not all the time. In addition, it drains the battery. I use Waze literally every single day, multiple times. However, if they don't change this, I will be switching to another navigation app. It's getting ridiculous having to go to settings to switch it on and off every time I want to simply use the app.

Always on disrespects my privacy.

I realize the need for always on to deliver accurate reporting times and when to leave for destinations etc but please give us the option. You could set it to always on by default and under settings show directions and say this will remove option to set traffic and time based reminders.

So annoying to have to go in and out of settings to turn lacation on and off for every trip.

Absolutely a deal breaker. Loved Waze. Need to stop using it because I need to choose between a dead battery or having to go into settings every time I use app. Please add "while using app" to location services.

Agreed. I just joined waze and like it, but I'm deleting it and going back to GoogleMaps because I don't like my location being on ALL the time.

Yes! Love Waze, but seriously losing it on my phone until this is remedied...
