It is the opposite of safe that I have to take my eyes off the road to look at the screen to find out what an alert bell is about. And if I do not look the alert bell is essentially worthless. Go back to spoken alerts.

construction zone stays until construction finishes option
add start/end date option for long-term construction zones
Many road construction and lane reduction projects remain active for days or weeks, but Waze temporary reports disappear after only a few hours.
This creates a major issue because users must repeatedly re-report the same construction zone every day, and once the alert disappears Waze begins routing traffic directly through that delayed area again.
Example: if a city construction sign clearly states lane closure or road work for 30 days, users should be able to submit a construction report with an optional expiration date or duration.

Add voice notification when there is a mobile police camera in the opposite lane
I use Waze almost every day. I recently received a ticket and noticed that when there is a mobile police camera marked in the opposite lane (even on a two-way road), Waze does not send me a voice notification or warn me about it. Mobile police cameras measure speed in both directions. Can you make the app send a notification even if there is a mobile police camera marked in the opposite lane?

Background Safety & Enforcement Alerts
Add an opt-in "Background Mode" that alerts drivers to speed cameras, red-light cameras, and police presence even when the app isn't being used for navigation.
This would provide "passive protection" for daily commutes where a driver knows the route but still wants to be notified of real-time road hazards. To save battery, the feature could automatically activate only when the phone detects it is connected to a vehicle's Bluetooth.1 vote -

Alerter si la destination est fermée (si magasin, ou administration), en se basant des horaires d'ouverture du magasin ou de l'administration sur google.
Autrement dit, si je mets l'adresse du service des impôts dimanche matin, eh ben je reçois une petite notif ou alerte pour me dire que votre destination semble être fermée aujourd'hui.
§ Autre exemple: je tape l'adresse du centre médical dentaire de ma ville à 19h30, je reçois de la même façon une alerte pour me prévenir que le centre est fermé à cette heure-ci.

Optional persistent reminder while inside an active school zone
Waze already provides an alert when a driver enters an active school zone, which is very helpful. However, once that initial alert has passed, there is no ongoing indication that the driver is still within the active school zone.
In real driving conditions, drivers may stop at traffic lights, turn onto side streets, or continue driving for several minutes within the same school zone. Over time, the initial alert can fade from awareness, even though the zone is still active.

Zone scolaire
Je vois qu'il y a des zones scolaires indiqué sur des routes à Ottawa, comment pouvons-nous signaler pour ajouter sur les routes côté Gatineau QC et ailleurs dans la province? Souvent ces zones sont en vigueur 10 mois de l'année et seulement entre 7:00 et 17:00. Ça rendrait ces zones plus sécuritaire (au cas où le conducteur a manqué la signalisation / pancarte) et du coup éviterait aussi de recevoir un constat d'infraction routier.

For police cameras alerts
This is very important, since it occured many times. You have to give option in police camera alerts, to choose at which distance to announce alert. Sometimes it announces very near to the police camera. Give options for example 2km, 1km, 500m etc. so drivers can choose. Also give another option to choose, in same area if settings, that will alert or not, on each specified distance (2km, 1km, 500m etc). Give another option to give continuous alert for speed cameras (instead of alerting on each of above distances), with intervals every 1second, 2 seconds......5 seconds. Also give option to…

Allow speedometer/magnify/alerts button to be placed on either side
Screens are getting bigger. Have an option to put the alert buttons on the side closest to the driver. This may help with people with short arms and also will help keep eyes on the road!

Alert
Alerts are often very close to the item and less useful than they could be.
I got a red light ticket and the alert for the red light camera only appeared as I went through the intersection.
Obviously it's my responsibility to drive the car, but it would be helpful to get an alert about 15-20 seconds before I approach whatever the item is.
For police or emergency vehicles it should be more like 1 minute.
And finally - if we're under the speed limit - then just show the Alert.

Customise alert filtering
I am requesting for more user customisation on what alerts come through
I find the alerts useful however they can get very annoying when listening to music.
The 3 options you currently get are: all, alerts only, silence.
It would be great if I could select alerts for just speed cameras, police etc leaving out speeding & pothole alerts (example)

Traffic Signs and Alerts Urgently Needed in School Zones
Waze needs to integrate visual traffic signs (Stop signs, traffic lights), just as Google and Apple Maps already do. A crucial missing feature is for the route line to change color when entering school zones, visually alerting the driver to reduce their speed. These visual cues are vital for driving with greater caution and better anticipating stops. If the app is updated to include these suggestions, I will give it five stars, and it will be perfect.
