Alarm notification on new version available, OTA download on BB (optional)
It would be interesting to check when you start the application, if a new version. On Blackberry devices, could have a link to download OTA or AppWorld

Keep Lake Ontario. Stand for the character of America as a gracious, strong nation. I will delete in 1 wk
I only want to be associated with companies who put good values over intimidation and bullying. I am a political independent and a proud American. Love America, and stand up for what is right. I am a long time Waze user who will delete my account if Waze does not change the name of Lake Ontario back. Making America great is the same as making a person great - it means making us more good, virtuous, and just, using our strength to lift up all nations. Corporate responsibility means doing your part. Goodbye.

Lake Ontario
I loved your app and used it every single time. I will never again use it as you change the name of Lake Ontario, just to raise the ego of an evil, wannabe dictator (like other of your former users called him).very disappointed

Rerouting should respect road class: please add a "prefer major roads" option
I have a long daily commute, usually two to three hours behind the wheel, and I use Waze every day. I'm based in the UK, but I think the issue below applies anywhere Waze operates.
The problem is how Waze reroutes around congestion. As soon as there's heavy traffic or a road closure, it drops me from major roads onto very minor ones: narrow single-track lanes where traffic in both directions shares one lane, often with no street lighting and no passing places. My car is mid-size and these lanes are simply too narrow for it. At night I've hit kerbs and roadside stones several times, and I've already shattered the underbody protection plate on my car. That's a real safety issue, not just an inconvenience.
The underlying gap is that rerouting seems to optimise almost entirely for time saved, and treats a minor road as interchangeable with a major one if the ETA is a few minutes better. For a lot of drivers it isn't. I would rather sit in a jam than be sent down a lane like that. If the choice is being late for work or risking my safety, I'll choose being late every time.
Two suggestions:
When recalculating a route because of congestion or a closure, weight road class much more heavily. Keep the driver on major roads unless the delay saved is substantial, rather than diverting onto minor roads for a small time gain.
Add a user preference along the lines of "Prefer major roads", so drivers can choose to stay on higher-class roads even when the route is longer. This would need to map onto each country's own road classification. In the UK that's motorways (M) and A-roads versus everything below, and most other countries have an equivalent hierarchy that Waze presumably already holds in its map data.
The second suggestion in particular looks straightforward to implement on top of data you already have, and would make a genuine safety difference.

Automatic vehicle type based on connected vehicle
Waze could automatically switch the vehicle type based on the Androide Auto / CarPlay system it connects to.
If I connect to my car, Waze uses Car mode. If I connect to my motorcycle, it automatically switches to Motorcycle mode.
This would make traffic data more accurate and remove the need to manually change the vehicle type every time.

Rerouting
Rerouting. STOP IT. We pick a route for a reason. Maybe someone is afraid of bridges or tunnels. Maybe there is a fear of heights. Or maybe we know that we want to avoid a bad area of town. We cannot choose a route to do those things with assurance that it will not change. I'm aware that there are good reasons to reroute. But we need an option to automatically accept or deny a route change. It is not safe to stare at a Waze screen waiting for a popup to select NO for a reroute. I do not understand why this has not been solved yet. If we want to look for a new route we always have the option. We do not need your help on some trips. PLEASE. Let me set my default choice for rerouting. A warning is fine but if do not do anything I don't want Waze to do it either!

Average speed calculation during average-speed camera zones
Feature suggestion: Average speed calculation during average-speed camera zones
I think Waze could add a feature that shows the driver's current average speed while driving through an average-speed camera zone.
For example, if the speed limit is 90 km/h and I accidentally drive at 110 km/h for part of the section, Waze could calculate my current average speed and show what speed I need to maintain for the rest of the section to finish with an average of 90 km/h.
It could display something like:
Speed limit: 90 km/h
Current average: 101 km/h
Distance remaining: 3.5 km
Required speed for the remaining distance: 75 km/hThis would make the average-speed camera feature much more useful and help drivers understand their actual average speed throughout the entire controlled section.

Avoid School Zones
"Avoid active School Zones" like the avoid toll roads & ferry option. Due to decreased speed regulations “when children are present”, avoiding school zones could help drivers make better decisions on route choices, seeing as schools start/stop dates vary depending upon your area.

Alert sound indicating upcoming route change while on the phone
I drive long distances and one of the main issues I have is that when I'm on the phone, there is no alert sound to indicate an upcoming route change. Apple maps will ding to force you to look down and realize you have an upcoming route change. It's easy to get distracted on the phone and not be paying close attention to your next change when Waze is silent.

Instant location marking button for issue reporting afterwards
I see some issue on road that I want to report, but I am driving. I can’t report after I passed. Is it possible to have button on Nav screen for marking a place, for reporting an issue, after I stopped driving?

Allert for heavy/high vehicales
suggestion - to add a feature that allerts heavy/high vehicals, from enetering into restricted road. For Ex - road 395 in israel.
Driver that enters this road without knowing about the restriction will go all the way up the road and will have to do a u - turn, get a traffic report or to cause traffic jam at a specific area where the road is narrow that they cant pass through2 votes -

Quick Travel Mode Switching for Users with Multiple Vehicles
This feature has already been suggested by the Waze community, and it appears to be a recurring request from multiple users since years. However, there does not seem to have been any update or response regarding its development.
Context
I use Waze both as a car driver and as a motorcyclist, so I regularly switch between different modes of transportation depending on the trip.
The problem
Currently, changing the travel mode is not quick or easily accessible. To switch from car to motorcycle, I have to navigate through several menus and access the settings to change my vehicle.
This is particularly inconvenient for users who regularly alternate between multiple vehicles. The need is quite simple: quickly tell Waze which vehicle I am going to use for my next trip.
Proposed solution
I suggest allowing users to configure the different modes of transportation they regularly use in their profile: car, motorcycle, bicycle, etc.
For users who only have one mode configured, nothing would change.
However, when a user has multiple modes configured, Waze could display a quick selection pop-up when opening the app, for example:
Which vehicle are you using today?
🚗 Car | 🏍️ MotorcycleThe user could then select their preferred mode with a single tap, and Waze would use the appropriate navigation settings.
This pop-up could be enabled or disabled in the settings, giving users control over the feature.
It would also be useful to have this selection directly available when searching for a route, particularly when planning a trip scheduled for later. In this situation, a user may plan a trip several hours or even days in advance without yet knowing whether they will travel by car or motorcycle. Being able to select the travel mode directly when planning the route would avoid having to change the settings later.
Goal
The goal would be to make switching between travel modes possible in one or two taps, while keeping the current interface unchanged for users who only use one mode of transportation.
I believe this would be particularly useful for people who regularly use multiple vehicles, especially drivers and motorcyclists.
Thank you for considering this suggestion!
