Multiple Vehicle Profiles – Select Your Vehicle Before Navigation
Allow users to create and save multiple vehicle profiles (e.g. Family Car, Company Car, Truck, Motorcycle), each with its own settings. Before starting navigation, Waze could ask which vehicle the user is driving, or allow the user to select a vehicle profile.
This would ensure that Waze automatically uses the correct settings for the selected vehicle.

Audible speed camera alerts
Unfortunately the Waze support team insist I post a suggestion despite it being posted numerous times already and it being ignored completely..
We NEED audible speed camera alters regardless of speed. I find myself staring at the screen far too often to see when there's a speed camera approaching on the motorway and find this unsafe. I would feel a sense of calm having an audible alert EVEN IF I am going below the speed limit.
How would the app react currently if I'm doing 70mph, near a speed camera and then accidentally just go over by 2-3mph just as the camera is approaching? The app would have displayed an alert on screen but would not have triggered the audible speed camera alert in time since I'd be going over the limit.. I'd be left with a speeding fine.
This could be avoided completely by giving US, the users and community the choice to have the speed camera alerts on regardless of speed or only when above the speed limit.
Also, what the car detects as 70mph, the app sees as 67-68mph and is not in sync. This creates a huge problem in itself.
Why leave a margin for error?
Why create an environment where users are spending more time staring at a screen looking for a speed camera on a motorway, taking their eyes off the road??
Why restrict what drivers can and cannot hear? Why can we not decide for ourselves what alerts we want to hear and when?
Why does it have to take multiple suggestion posts and multiple votes for something soo incredibly critical to be recognised and implemented.
I've submitted this at the request of the Waze support team who were not interested to help despite being informed of several pre-existing suggestion posts.
I would request for every member of the community to upvote this suggestion so some action can finally be taken.
We must have audible speed camera alerts regardless of speed. Give us a toggle to active this if you must.

The most economical way
It would be great if Waze could recommend the economic route when starting a trip.
It could include altitude variations, flux/stops of the traffic (ie if there’s a lot of traffic lights vs a more continuous route) and also the average speed and road type.1 vote -
Waze offline cache
Feature request: Automatic offline fallback for active navigation
When a user starts a route while connected to the internet, the app should automatically cache enough information to continue that active trip if mobile data is lost.
The phone would still have GPS, so it could continue following the already-calculated route locally without needing live traffic or server-side routing.
Ideally, the app could also cache a small road graph around the route. If the driver misses a turn while offline, a lightweight local routing algorithm such as A* could find a path back to the original route rather than requiring a completely new online route.
When internet connectivity returns, normal live routing and traffic updates could resume.
This would make navigation much more reliable in areas with temporary cellular dead zones without requiring users to remember to manually download offline maps beforehand.

Hgv support
Not really suitable for HGVs at the moment.
The live traffic and hazard alerts are still class-leading, and the vehicle-type option is a nice start, but the routing isn’t reliable enough for trucks, it keeps sending you down roads with height or weight limits.
A feature no other HGV satnav has would be live truck-to-truck clearance sharing, where drivers could instantly report the exact height or weight they just cleared under a bridge or restriction, updating the map for everyone in real time.
Even better would be the ability to flag roads that other maps mark as legal but are impractical or unsuitable for HGVs in reality.
That alone would make Waze the safest option on the market. Please add support for HGVS!!

Shared Route Responses
I suggest adding more options to the respond que once someone shares their route with you. Currently, "Thank you" and "I'll be right there" generally don't make sense when clicking on their icon on their route. "Thanks - Drive Safe" or "See you soon!" or maybe, "Bring Ransom Money/ Beer/ Milk/ Candy." 😊

Add an option to always choose the fastest route
Hello,
Waze frequently suggests routes that are not the fastest, even when time-saving alternatives exist.
French Decree No. 2022-1119 of August 3, 2022, which imposed specific rules on navigation assistance services, was annulled by the Council of State on September 27, 2023.
Why does Waze continue to apply criteria that can lead to the exclusion of the truly fastest route?
Please add a clear option—"Always prioritize the fastest route"—that allows the user to select travel time as the sole criterion.
Users should be able to decide for themselves which criterion they wish to prioritize.1 vote -

Check point
“I would like to suggest adding a dedicated ‘checkpoint’ report option in Waze. Currently, users can only report ‘police’, but checkpoints are different and deserve their own category. A specific checkpoint report would provide clearer and more accurate information for drivers, while keeping reports organized. Many users would find this feature useful, especially in areas where checkpoints are common. Thank you for considering this suggestion.”

The ability to change vehicle type
Being able to select "van" or "commercial" would be beneficial as the motoring laws change based on the vehicle your driving. Such as vans or car derived vans speed limits in national speed zones are -10 (60 dual carriageway) and some zones and roads either restrict commercial use or entirely forbid it.

Carplay dark mode
The home and volume / alert buttons in CarPlay dark mode have a grey background and black text. This is very difficult to read. The CarPlay UI button colours, contrast and sizing for volume limit would not pass any modern accessibility check such as WCAG 2.2.
Please review to make this excellent app even better.

Destop browser use - not intuitive
I tried using the website waze.com to do a direction search. It had the destination pre-filled (I clicked a link from another website). I tried to enter a start location (City, ST) but the enter key did not save it or trigger an update. When I clicked outside the start field, it disappeared. Totally blank. I just closed the browser and did a search from maps.google.com.

Don't require location to use Waze, unless the user is seeking directions
I tried using the Waze app on my Android phone. It kept insisting that I must turn on my location. If I were in need of directions I would turn on my location. All I was trying to do was to check traffic in the area. This insistence of having my location on just to open the app is kind of frustrating, so I uninstalled it and went back to Google Maps.
Before I uninstalled it, I did temporarily turn on location and tried to use it. It is not what I would consider 'intuitive'. At least not from the stance of a Google Maps user.

BYD
Implement navigation directions on BYD cars heads-up display (HUD) unit for models that have them (e.g. Sealion 7).Google Maps already have this, but Waze is better for navigation.

Add private with trailer to the vehicle type
Add private with trailer. Some routes are not suitable when towing a trailer, either tight turns or height restrictions.
