Emergency services
EMS agencies across the country are closing their doors, unable to afford to stay open so while navigation apps specific to fire and EMS exist, only the largest and best funded agencies can afford to use them, so most of us are forced to use apps like Waze or Google Maps to navigate during an emergency response. However roads best used in an ambulance or fire truck aren't the same as in your POV, you need to stick to main roads whenever possible, straight away's over curvy roads etc, and not a single app I have found for individual users addresses this. My greatest wish for Waze is that an emergency response mode is added - maybe you can also chose an ambulance, fire truck or police car as your vehicle icon but the main need is that there is an option in route planning for main road prioritization. A main road gives us more room to maneuver. And stop asssuminh agencies just pay for the paid services. Medicare reimburses $300 a call for my agency - and with how expensive the equipment is whether we need it on that particular call or not means we need way more than that to afford to keep the doors open let alone splurge on extras like area specific emergency navigation software. We go out of our way to ensure we get to someone as quickly and as safely as possible but we could do that much better if someone actually created something that helps us do that.

Alerta Radares Fijos
La experiencia de conducir con waze mejoraria mucho si diera aviso de todos los radares fijos, con independencia de la velocidad de marcha, esto daría mayor confort al conductor y le evitarían dudas si la velocidad era correcta al pasar por el radar.1

Severe CarPlay rotary controller navigation regression in Waze - BUG!!!
Since a recent update, Waze has become significantly harder to operate through the rotary iDrive controller in my 2024 BMW X5 using Apple CarPlay.
The following problems occur:
- When a road hazard or incident notification appears, it is difficult or sometimes impossible to access and respond to the notification using the vehicle’s rotary controller.
- When creating a new road report, the selection focus opens on seemingly random menu items rather than consistently starting at the first item.
- Navigation between menu items is unpredictable, and some controls cannot be selected without touching the vehicle’s display.
Previously, these interactions worked reliably.
This is a serious usability and driving safety regression because it forces drivers to look at and interact with the touchscreen instead of using the vehicle’s physical controls.
Please investigate the CarPlay focus navigation behavior, restore predictable menu ordering and selection, and ensure that all interactive elements are fully accessible through rotary controllers.
Environment:
- Vehicle: 2024 BMW X5
- Interface: BMW iDrive rotary controller
- Platform: Apple CarPlay
- Application: Waze

Affichage permanent des bornes de recharge électrique sur la carte Waze

Je souhaiterais proposer une amélioration de Waze pour les utilisateurs de véhicules électriques.
Actuellement, il est possible de rechercher des bornes de recharge, mais il serait particulièrement utile de pouvoir activer leur affichage permanent sur la carte, comme une couche d'information optionnelle, sans devoir lancer une recherche spécifique.
Cet affichage pourrait être personnalisé selon plusieurs critères :
Type de connecteur compatible avec le véhicule ;
Puissance de recharge (AC, DC, rapide ou ultrarapide) ;
Disponibilité des bornes en temps réel, lorsque cette information existe.
Cette fonctionnalité permettrait aux conducteurs d'identifier spontanément les possibilités de recharge à proximité de leur itinéraire, sans interrompre leur navigation.

Suggestions for Improving Waze Navigation Features

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude and congratulations for the great and valuable services Waze provides to society, making a significant contribution to urban mobility, road safety, and the optimization of the daily journeys of millions of users around the world.
Furthermore, I would like to present the following suggestions, which are offered solely as recommendations for potential improvements to your services.
Based on the example of the TomTom app, I would like to suggest the following features for Waze:
- A Traffic Events and Points of Interest Sidebar (Side Bar or Event Bar)
The introduction of a vertical sidebar, similar to the one displayed on the right-hand side of the TomTom app, which remains fixed on the screen and indicates the user's proximity to certain points of interest, such as gas stations, repair shops, hotels, and other relevant locations.
- More Detailed and Accurate Road Curvature Representation
Improved navigation visualization, particularly on highways, with more detailed geometric representations of the road and earlier visual indications of upcoming curves. Currently, the route is generally displayed as a straight line, with certain curves only becoming visible when they are particularly sharp. A more detailed representation would help users anticipate road geometry more effectively.
- Improved Positioning of Temporary Alerts Within the Waze Interface
Regarding Waze's existing interface, I would also like to suggest that temporary alerts, such as speed camera notifications and accident reports, should not overlap the Navigation Instruction Banner, which remains fixed in the upper-left portion of the screen.
Instead, these alerts could be displayed directly below the navigation instruction banner. I fully understand the importance of displaying these temporary notifications; however, when they overlap and temporarily obscure the navigation banner, users may lose sight of essential navigation information, even if only for a brief moment.
I believe that positioning these alerts below the navigation banner would help preserve the visibility of essential navigation instructions while allowing users to receive important notifications.

Please increase size of warnings in Android Auto
In my car (Xpeng G9) the Android Auto screen is pretty large.
Please either increase the size of warnings (like speed camera warnings) and speed limit, or let me choose a size (small, medium, large, xlarge).1 vote -
Slow going cars
Hi
I would like to make a suggestion regarding a "mode" to be implemented.
In Sweden we have cars for younger persons (from 15 years old) that aren´t allowed to faster then 30km/h and aren´t allowed to go on the highway/expressway/motorway. It would be nice to be able to choose this mode and the route is excluding the highways (I know you can choose that) and that the remaining time to destination is calculated with the 30km/h speed limit and the route should probably choose the shortest route per default.

On land rover cars, when waze is shown on the digital dashboard, it is always in dark mode
On land rover cars, when waze is shown on the digital dashboard it is always in dark mode. However, the infotainment center console screen automatically switches between light and dark mode. Can you please fix this bug so that the digital dashboard map also syncs the light/dark mode automatically instead of always being in dark mode.

Need to have an option to choose a fath based side kick, maybe gives daily Scriptures, can have one for all religions if necessary. I think this would be an awesome addition. Maybe have angles to be an option as a wayzer?

Sugestión to add a flood avoidance feature
I would like to suggest adding a feature that allows drivers to avoid flood-prone area, especially during the rainy season
It would be helpful if Waze could identify streets and areas that are prone to flooding and automatically suggest alternative routes to help drivers avoid accidents, delays and vehicle damage

While the device is horizontal. You can select to open Music, the pause and skip track controls are hidden below the menu not not usable. This needs to be fixed

Quick Map Theme Toggle in Android Auto
Hello Waze Team,
I would like to suggest a small but very useful improvement to Waze when used with Android Auto.
Would it be possible to add a simple on-screen button that allows users to quickly switch between the light and dark map themes directly on the car's display?
Currently, changing the map appearance is not as convenient as it could be. A quick toggle would be especially useful in situations where the automatic day/night mode does not match the driver's preference or current lighting conditions.
Ideally, this option would be accessible directly from the navigation screen, without having to open settings or disconnect Android Auto.
I believe this would improve usability and provide drivers with greater flexibility while keeping the interaction simple and safe.

Ability to report ALPR and flock cameras
The only current ability to report a camera is the police cameras. Please add a separate icon or ability to report these cameras.
Side note for those of you who are adamant that these don’t result in speeding tickets… they don’t until they do… do you really trust the entity behind them?1 vote -

I've been using Waze for at least tour years now, and I've really enjoyed the app, its features, and all the improvements and updates it has received over the years. I appreciate the work that goes into making Waze such a useful navigation tool, and I have just one feature request that I think would make it even better.
Would it be possible to add a customizable distance setting for spoken alerts about reported items along the route?
For example, when someone reports police ahead, I believe the voice alert currently happens at roughly half a mile away. I would love the option to customize how far in advance these alerts are announced, ideally with a selectable range from 0.5 miles up to 2 miles, including the option to receive alerts 1 mile in advance.
This would be especially helpful when driving at highway speeds, as having more advance notice of reported police, hazards, stopped vehicles, or other road conditions would give drivers more time to react safely and adjust their driving accordingly.

Audio alerts for pedestrian crossings
I live in Germany, and as a new Waze user, I really appreciate the app's real-time alerts. One feature I would love to see is an audio alert for upcoming pedestrian crossings (e.g., "Pedestrian crossing ahead in 100 meters"). To be clear, this would just be a static alert for the presence of a marked crossing-not real-time data on whether pedestrians are currently crossing. Mapping zebra crossings and pedestrian paths into the database should be thus feasible, and it would add tremendous safety value for drivers and pedestrians. Thank you for considering this!
