  2. save lives: hijack hot spot and unsafe or damaged roads

    DANGER HOT SPOTS
South Africa is riddled with crime and Waze can literally save hundreds of lives by allowing users to post hot sports at dangerous intersections. Simply being aware of a dangerous intersection will allow people to stop at that light with a safe escape distance. If the intersection gets safer somebody could post as not dangerous anymore

    UNSAFE ROADS
Ive had numerous flat tyres from driving over a pothole. Imagine i could post a section of the road as damaged road. Id then be aware that i should be looking out for potholes. In the unlikely occasion that…

  4. Enhanced Hazard Reporting by adding "Affecting Flow of Traffic" option

Everybody has seen a car on the side of the road but how many of those are actually affecting the flow of traffic? People post them to gain points but often times it is not useful information.

  5. Enhance the "Prevent Auto-Lock" setting

Enhance the "Prevent Auto-Lock" setting, so that you can have one setting for when it is plugged in and charging and another setting when not charging.

This will allow for the option to let the phone to go into standby, if the phone is left on after turning the car off.

  6. The dependence of the color bands of the route from traffic jams

When driving on the lane route, the route covers the color strip road on which it runs. It is not clear, red or yellow road. Propose to change the hue (color) of the band route, depending on the color of the road on which it runs.

  7. Semaphore optimization of speed, driving time and fuel economy.

To drive faster and keep fuel try to know the semaphore timing.
In this case can advise drive slower or faster (if possible) to drive non-stop in the semaphore green corridor, when possible.

  8. user provided layout themes

There are various requests for features of what Waze should/should not display on screen. It would be great if users could instead of just choosing a style, actually choose a (or create) a layout that another user has selected.

Best option would be to provide the ablity to give shapes, and areas that can contain text. Eg.
    - Current speed (can then increase/decrease the speed display)
    - Average wazer speed on the current segment (so the potential speed limits could be shown)
    - Current road name
    - Text/images for popups
    - Destination ETA
    - Destination time
    - Destination name

  9. Allow more granular control over notifications

I'd love to be able to adjust my notifications a bit more specifically than I can currently. For example, I want to turn off chit-chat notifications, and I'd love to have both an audio and visual notification for red light/speeding cameras, police, and severe traffic.

  12. Ask user on which street he is if GPS accuracy insufficient to determinate it automatically

Sometimes in the beginning of driving or if you driving differently from Wase suggestion Waze can lock on wrong street, if it is two close streets inside GPS accuracy region. I think it will be good if Wase will ask on which street you are exactly if it detects that GPS accuracy is insufficient to determinate it automatically.

  13. Use acceleration sensors to improve navigation

I think it will be good idea to use acceleration sensors to improve navigation when GPS signal is weak. For example in tunnels. Also it may help in situation when GPS accuracy is insufficient. For example to better determination of position in roundabout.

  14. Automatically start/stop reporting on bluetooth connect/disconnect

Please consider a settings option to report traffic only if exact bluetooth device (my car HF) is connected. This could be very useful feature to avoid false traffic reports.

    Settings:
    - Turn feature ON / OFF
    - Choose BT device

    Behaviour:
    - When exact bluetooth device is connected, wait until some ratelimit speed is reached (i.e. 30 kmh) and start reporting.
    - When bluetooth device is disconnected, automatically stop traffic reporting.

  15. mapless mode

how about a screen that just displays the speed and any nearby alerts (range user selectable) for when we're just driving and don't need the GPS? This could cut down on data (and battery) usage by not fetching maps, but still let us provide data back to the system.

  16. Display map on phone while connected to Android Auto (AA)

Since a few days ago, Waze no longer shows the map navigation on the phone screen but only the turn-by-turn navigation.

The problem with this is, my car's built-in AA could never run Waze. The car location would always get stuck at one location.

My workaround has been to run Waze on the phone and Google Maps on the car's AA screen. This worked like a charm until last week. Right now, every time I use Waze I have to disable AA and connect my phone audio using bluetooth to the car's head unit. It's a really decluttered setup and…

  17. Push the start date limit for road closures an extra month in the future

Right now, map editors can place road closures at most one year in advance. When an event ends, they often announce next year's date. It would be handy if we could add those closures at that point, even if the event will take place like a weekend later next year. Now, we often have to set a reminder to add these next week or so. Therefore, I'd like to propose this limit gets pushed one extra month in the future, making the limit 12+1 months. It might be best to adjust this limit for some other related things, such as…

  18. Add support for Eircodes (Ireland's Postal Code system)

Irish Eircode support is required in Waze. Unlilke a lot of postcode systems, Irish Eircodes are unique codes that match to an exact building/address. https://www.eircode.ie/benefits/overview

I am constantly getting issues reported by users of the below:

    • Search for an address by its house number, you get correctly routed to the correct road as we have added house numbers.

    • Search for the eircode, Waze pulls the coordinates from Google and routes to the nearest segment, so many times, this is the incorrect road, a lot of the time it routes users to roads behind the address beause I assume it's technically…

  19. Enable Speech-to-Text for Map Update Requests While Driving (via Android Auto and CarPlay)

I would like to suggest an improvement to Waze that would allow users to fill out map update requests (URs) using speech-to-text while driving, particularly when connected through Android Auto or CarPlay.

Currently, when users select a map update option (such as "Incorrect address," "Missing road," or "Speed limit") while driving, there is no way to add a description of the issue. This limits the ability to provide detailed reports and often results in incomplete information being submitted. With speech-to-text functionality, users could quickly and safely dictate descriptions of the problem without having to stop or manually type anything.

    For…
